Citra Vice is the best NE IPA in Ohio that I've had north of JAFB in Wooster, who in my opinion, are killing it

I'm also heading down, not sure what would be a good time to get there though. I'm hoping an hour early should be more than enough, but you never know these days. I'm hoping to just get a 4 pack of each one, worst case at least I'll try them on draft and possibly take home a crowler of one. Also looking forward to the BA Winter Stout, as I missed that one the last time I was there.

I won't be getting there till closer to open or shortly after. I'm interested in trying the beers, if I miss out on cans, it won't really bother me. I just have zero desire to wait in the cold before open. Last release I timed perfect, got there about half hour after open, the initial push was gone and it was super chill inside again, until another push around 1-1:30. I know there's a lot more hype around this one though, so we'll see what happens.

From having done this before, is there just a massive rush up to the bar to buy cans, or is there a designated line somewhere else in the brewery that you buy cans at? Depending on how my morning goes I may not get there early, but I don't want to have to wait in a big line just to get a draft at the bar if I show up late.

There's kind of two designated can lines but they don't explicitly spell it out, but you can also sit down at the bar and get cans as well. It's pretty disorganized tbh and the moment they have a release that's an instant sellout it's gonna piss a lot of people off, maybe rightfully so.

There are two lines at the bar at open, both where you can get cans/drafts/food. Up to this point, every time I go, I just walk up and there's nobody in line, I get cans and drafts, go sit down, then back up for food. It's kind of a crap shoot this time because the facebook hype has been through the roof. With that said, I still can't imagine them selling out of everything in an hour or having or having a crazy line outside for more than the first 50 crazy people who want all the cans and tekus to sell/trade.

If they would just cut the allotment in half, to a more reasonable amount of 3x 4pk's per beer, it would solve 100% of the issues until they get their new equipment and are able to produce a lot more.

I brought that up on their Facebook page last release when people were giving suggestions, but it didn't seem to go over well. People need their cases to trade.

People are bringing them to HH and trading them for a bunch of other stuff. What, I have no idea.

So the past couple releases have been the day before a Hoof release. MANY of the people there early at the last release were loading up to take down for trades in Marengo the next morning. This one is a week after the Key Bump release, but I'd still bet plenty of people will be getting some to trade for recent Hoof.

I've also thrown in cans as extras to my buddy in Boston and he's now started even wanting some more of it, sending me new england stuff in trade. He's a great guy though and really just cares about quality>hype/value, so I wouldn't go out thinking you'll be able to post a Masthead for Treehouse, Trill, Bissel trade and get it done... yet

Let's do a Masthead share on the 27th lol...the hype is building, the last couple stouts and IPA's have been excellent.

Can we make a community goal to NOT build up hype for Masthead? I want to be able to get their beers without having to wait in line or buy a ticket. All their beer sucks anyway:wink:

I didn't find that Tiramisu beer all that amazing, FWIW... diabeetus to start, didn't finish the can split with someone else at that.

And the four pack of "Wit" I bought were also not that impressive. A style I usually love, it had far too much lemon and was a bit weird.

(Not sure that helps your cause! But no hype here...)

I have been very impressed with Couch Kush’n. Can’t believe these guys just opened. Their IPA, Super Fantastic, truly is fantastic. Definitely check them out if you by some chance you end up in Licking County.

in other words, lost. Next time in Granville I'll drive the extra 10 mins and check it out; beers look tasty.

First thing that came up when searching Dankhouse Brewing was about how the mural artist hasn't been paid yet... odd

Thanks fellas, we appreciate the comments. Come check us out at Juicy Brews at The Crest in Columbus on Feb. 25 , if you never make it out to the Newark area. If you do make it to us, introduce yourselves to us, my wife and I own and run the place, so one of us is always here and would love to meet the people that are helping spread the word.

It’s unfortunate we had the issue with the artist, and we have tried to get this removed from the top of our page. Long story short, we had a gentlemen’s handshake agreement to do the work, which he was paid for, up front. He tried to hit us with an invoice and fleece us for about 3x what was originally agreed upon. At that time we parted ways, and we painted over the entire wall mural and ate the cost of the original work, just to rid us of the situation.

I remember when a handshake used to mean something. Your beer is legit. Keep up the good work man. I can’t wait to get back to licking county (never thought I would say that). I need some of that couch.
