The Growler is pretty good. And the Hopyard in San Ramon, but other than those 3 the interior area between Dublin and Walnut Creek has bad beer options that I can recall...

Yes from what I heard it is the Bishop Ranch complex in San Ramon.
Also I'm sure you know this, Caps and Taps in Dublin has a nice lineup most of the time.

Sorry I meant 680 not interior, not sure where that came from lol. Taps and caps is great, but it's off of 580:grin:

I heard Destination Unknown will be released soon? How long does this one usually last? For crowler fills?

It really depends batch to batch. Especially now with them sending kegs to 5 different tap rooms. You can guess from a couple days to a week. It is on tap right now at Berkeley, Sac, Monterey.

BTW... King Citra CANS are back this weekend. No specific dates. Maybe Berk on Fri? Then Sac and the rest on Sat?

Also quite the debate in the IG comments...lol....

Wow, I think I lost some IQ points reading those comments.

Looking forward to the KC release, though!

Damn, between this and the great "yeast bite" debate, shit is tense. Things are heated in the Bay Area beer community these days :joy:

Haha! Really though we're incredibly fortunate in the bay area to have the amount of quality, quantity and easy access to beers that we do. It's crazy to think how rarely I drink Fieldwork anymore, not that I don't enjoy it, but I don't have a car and rarely leave SF.

I currently drink mostly FW because of my proximity to the Berkeley location, but I'll likely be moving by the beginning of fall so my consumption of FW beers may change. The thing is, comparing them to all the stuff I have access to, I'd still likely continue keeping my consumption habits the same. For my palate, I prefer stuff like Destination Unknown, One Star Review, King Citra, Wax, and Pulp over most everything else. A friend hooked me up with Big Lots and Dobis variants and while they were good, I'd still take the aforementioned FW beers over them. It just sucks when the batch is off.

Jesus. Those IG comments are longer than forum posts. Sifting through that really made me think "IT'S JUST BEER". Good to see the passion some people have but man sometimes you just gotta chiiiiilllllll.

i agree, from all of the ipas in the bay area i enjoy the fieldwork beers the most! the crazy part is while i liked all the beers you mentioned mine would be completely different answers, and that is achievement for fiwledwork (east side motel, virtual planetoid, this last batch of galaxy sauce was crazy good, st thomas, pepe the shark- jesus that was good)

i guess it’s just right for my palate. they reviews on untappd are far lower than i would imagine. for example i just had parish double dry hopped ghost in the machine, that’s sita at a 4.69, and i think east side (4.14) and st thomas (4.01) are equivalent

Looks like Fieldwork was planning to release in cans a new beer called "Chaos Emerald" this weekend. But the cans exploded. Not 100% sure but damn... that's gotta be rough.

That debate made my night , fun read, but I gotta agree that fieldwork has had quite a bit of batch inconsistency in 2017. I do think their 4th qtr releases (that I've had) have been great

Yeah, I think that may have only been mentioned in Alex Tweet's "Stories" on IG.

yeah that was sad to see. I assumed it was a problem with dissolved oxygen content in the cans, because of the mention of the Orbisphere. if that was the case the slashes in the cans would've been a result of expediting the process of manually dumping each can.

You have to already be following Alex Tweet's IG account. The "stories" only come up on your device after that. The little circles at the top of your screen.

    https://www.instagram.com/mralextweet/

It was not on any of the "Official" Fieldwork social media.
