I will take Masthead and Noble Beast over Southern Tier and Brewdog. My point is, quality aside, I can’t physically visit all these places, and most likey other beer people can’t either; we will pick a few favorites and stick with them. My overall opinion is that many of the places I have visited are above average, but once again - it is impossible to get to most of them with any frequency. I guess the market will decide who stays, but with the sheer number of places, some good breweries may close.

I’m not excited about the new Fat Head’s; I like the small, hard to find taproom, but that is me being an old grump.

Also, I had a positive experience at the new Thirsty Dog. Expensive, but good beer and atmosphere.

The only place that I don't think is saturated is the east side. If you look along 271, there's pretty much nothing between Willoughby Brewing Company and the new breweries that opened up in Hudson/Stow. There's Bottlehouse and Bossdog in CH, but that's a ways off the highway. The Cleveland Brewery in Euclid makes some decent beers, but they're only open Fri/Sat usually. Maybe it's just the clientele of the area, but I think something would do pretty well in the east/south east part of town if only because of the lack of options. With all of the big industrial buildings in Solon, I'm surprised a production facility/taproom hasn't popped up over there from one of the bigger players.

The East Side is the wine and cheese crowd. I’m joking... kinda

Agreed. Like, I've literally heard of no one going to Bad Tom Smith yet. Forest City is always dead. Bottlehouse Lakewood is usually pretty dead (which is nonsense because they are absolutely phenomenal). Something's got to give I would think.

I almost went to Bad Tom Smith last week, but opted for Fat Head’s instead.

Time and money is so limited, it makes it hard to take a chance on a new brewery.

I agree, which is why I said perhaps it's just the clientele in the area. But there's got to be enough of us to sustain at least some type of establishment, at least from how busy Lizardville is whenever I go in there on the weekends.

The Bad Tom Smith in Cleveland is open already? Wow.

Just to give you an idea of how bad the one in Cincinnati is, I drive by it, literally every single day on my way home from work. I've been one time. The beer is mediocre and the place smells like a wrestling room in high school.

Maybe the Cleveland location will be better.

I'm flabberghasted that Cleveland area BAs haven't hit up the local satellite to Cincinnati's favorite brewery, Bad Tom Smith. /s

Im east and would love a market district, a lizardville, and a predominate Ohio brewery do something over here. Rat cellar is east but I only drink their beer when someone forces me to try wine and cheese.

One of Fat Heads more underrated beers, Head Trip, is out in bottles now. It's not the first time it's been bottled but I thought it was worth mentioning. Now if we can only get them to bottle Alpenglow!

I work in East Cleveland and live In Hinckley - there's the Lizardville in Bedford and 1/2 dozen regular Lizards up and down 271. Not sure if that has something to do with it? Between the Lizards rotating taps/bottles + Lizardville it seems I can get plethora of different items.

Nothing beerfest wise, but both Fat Head’s locations have killer tap lists, especially if you like ipas.

Maple Whiskey BA BORIS tomorrow. 3PM at Hoppin Frog.

FYI for the haters--this one's easy to rip on: they are also releasing a "pepper jelly" BA Porter for the Rare Beer Club members tomorrow

My exact reaction when I saw the email. With that said... I did actually enjoy "Fire in the Hole" from FB, which was raspberry+pepper, so hey there's at least a chance for this. As long as it doesn't taste like that horrific gin beer, I'll be happy. That thing was easily the worst beer they've ever put out.

lol! That was definitely an unusual beer, to say the least. Easily the most gin flavor I've had in a beer, but I just could not figure out whether I actually liked that or not.
