They must be doing well and I think them asking local taxpayers to fund 10% of the project is simply greedy.

They should just do an Indegogo campaign instead, crowdfund the expansion!

It seems any and all businesses are playing this game of looking for a handout from the government in terms of tax abatement, grants, etc.. It's not specific to beer. Don't blame the players, blame the game.

If they decide to crowd fund through one-off BA Silhouette variants, count me in!

I could get behind that kind of crowd funding!

FYI we are looking at using TIF. The City will receive the money back plus more. The additional dollars go into the TIF fund for future projects. In order to get the TIF approved, the project has to provide more value to the City than the amount of the financing. It is a win-win-win.

That's one way to spin it. It would be a bigger win for the city and its taxpayers if you simply paid for the entire project yourself. Good luck to you. I truly enjoy your beers and won't stop drinking them regardless of the path taken.

They are paying for the entire project themselves.

They are no longer pursuing the TIF subsidy?

They pay it back in full plus interest. Thus they are paying for it. No hand out.

If it's not a hand out why are they asking the government for financing?

is expanding capacity wise at this time? It's bring breweries to the ground now. Over estimate sales grow then build new bigger brewery and then collapse

Anyone know if I can pick up bottles of BA silhouette without ordering online later in the week? Looks like they have 3k bottles left as of now and I doubt they'll sell out on Saturday.

By that logic getting a mortgage to buy a house is getting a handout from the bank. Buying a car with a loan is getting a handout.
