Founders Imperial Stout with 1 year of age might be the best non BA stout I've ever had.

Founders for me.. but a seasonal that is gone in about 1 day vs a beer you can get year round isn't too fair a match up : /

I was buying 4-packs of Founders IS until June or so. :sunglasses:

Hahaha, I feel like if I side-by-sided these two after work I'd be asleep mighty early.

What would that be, something like 20% abv combined? (Notwithstanding long experience I remain a bit of a lightweight as well as a not-large person.)

I think I may be starting to understand why men climb mountains.

When I drink Founders RIS, it reminds me of Ten Fidy.... and when I drink Ten Fidy, it reminds me of.... Ten Fidy. So Ten Fidy wins for me.

Two of my favorites... Ted Fiddy wins my vote though

Founders. This was easy for me. Having said that, Ten Fidy is a helluva good beer.

I've been a lover of Founder for years. I was just lucky enough to have my first TenFiddy the other night.
I love the both. Cant say which one is better than the other. The both are great, and depending on my mood, one more taste better than the other.

Finally had Ten Fidy for the first time. LOVED it, but I think Founders IS is still my favorite (non barrel-aged) RIS. I'd love to do a blind tasting someday with Founders IS, Ten Fidy, and Stone IRS.

I prefer Founder's, but the last batch of Ten Fidy was off in my opinion. Like others have said Ten Fidy is around all the time, but FIS is rare treat.

So i read this post yesterday, and thought hmmm i wonder and i went home last night and did it, poured into two tulips side by side and drank both interchanging gulps over the course of an hour and a half. and the verdict is both what you dont know what i mean let me break it down the first 3/4 of each glass I was having a hard time deciding a winner, so i said screw it and combined the last 1/4 of each glass into one tulip, and that was the best yet, it had the smoothness of the RIS with the sweet/bitter bite of the ten fidy. My favorite was the two combined. mmmmmmm.

I hate hearing about Founders so damn much, since I don't trade, or travel much. :slight_frown:

With the danger of coming out sounding like an ass, my reply is the same as in the Ten Fidy vs Expedition thread.
Drink both. Age both. They are both awesome beers that deserve our consumption.

Founders. But how do your prefer your RIS? That really is the question.

Agree, but I think most pale ales beat Founders pale ale.

Check out the Canals on Rt 70 right after the 73 overpass... they still had singles when I left home in August, and were there all summer.

I wait for FIS just as much as the BS. It's fantastic stout. Founders for me.
