You are reading the post wrong. He is glad noon whistle is using Nelson as a hop in a more standard ipa series (prism)than using it to make a NE IPA (gummy).

They are not and maybe I was unclear. The Prisms are traditional IPA’s and not at all NeIPA’s

If one were dealing in hot takes, one might say the Hop Prism series>The Gummies...

 

The best of the Gummies beat out the best Hop Prisms, but there also hasn't been a single sub-par Hop Prism.

 

Small sample size on my end, but in my limited experience I don't necessarily disagree with this.

 

Have loved all the prisms. Gold is up there at the top

 

I enjoyed Turquoise and Gold as much or more than the Gummies but haven’t had enough of the different Prisms to be fully informed

 

Turquoise was definitely up there. My favorite stuff overall has been Squishy Gummy and Gummypocalypse, but there have been some ROUGH entries into the gummy series

 

The gummy series is definitely all over the place and has some consistently issues as well IMO. I remember loving squishy gummy last time and this time it was just ok. I think it's strange that a lot of their best stuff was when the first started brewing hazy IPAs, minus a few here and there.

 

Maybe the scaling up from draft/crowlers to cases upon cases has brought consistency issues (maybe with hops too). Gold Prism is still going in 4 packs along with the new Turquoise, FYI

 

I'm actually at a doctors appointment in Elmhurst so may need to stop by quick. Any word on gold or turquoise?

 

In terms of quality? Gold is awesome. Turquoise was great last summer but haven’t had this batch yet

 

Gold is amazing. Reminds me of Alpine Nelson before GF trashed it.
