Office do, fresh punk & Bullitt bourbon
Not the World’s greatest but a hell of a lot better than the urban soundtrack

With working Boxing day and having guests over on Christmas eve
made the most of it on the twenty fourth
where I had Cheshire Brewhouse remix of Luppy as a Toucan
upping the hops nad boosting it from APA to AIPA big hops that didn't scorch the palate

Stone Brewing which bwas a sweet treat
    Rodenbach Grand Cru
    Imperial Puft Tiny Rebel Brewing
    Black Hole Sun Imperial Stout
Black Lodge Brewery Russian Imperial Stout
then with work, a cold and my dad being to ill for ale I was put off beer till last night
seeing Roy Schneidder fight off a giant rubber shark improved my mood some
I had two of my Secret Santa PB Hopslposion IPA which was citrus well balanced against biscuity malt & Marble Castle of Udolpho which was port & raspberries
Moor & Arbors Double dark alliance, a gourmet coffee affair
& Bernadus Christmas ale which was brown sugar with that Belgian tang twist

Not really been on the beers over the festive period, some homebrews but mainly drinking sherry as I never drink it otherwise. And whisky....lots and lots of lovely whisky. And wine.

    letting the side down :slight_frown:

I've not been sampling that many beers over the festive period due to going back and forth to see family. However, I'm winding up the holiday and preparing for an imminent return to work with Northern Monk's Knucklepuck Time. A truly amazing DIPA....

Just now recovering from New Years eve
after suffering from a cold and walking into work on Boxing day after a nearly booze free 25th
I was determined to crawl in on the 1st like something that needed to be put out of it's miesry
    & I did.
We had a big roast & whilst cooking put away Thirst Class Any Porter in a Storm
    a lovely dark fruity porter.
Whilst everyone was helping set up for the meal and countdown
opened up Lym Valley Heritage Trail , a tasty traditional English pale.
whilst putting the finishing touches on the meal I supped Pizza Port Grandview
halfway between pilsner & bitter & very refreshing.
To lessen the pain of Jaws the revenge on the box Oersoep Blanco Saison.
Washing down the starter was Tempest's Alligator man DIPA.

To try and slow things down I had with my meal Wychwood Dr Thirsty (given 6 beers of character as gift) & can of red stripe (looted some from works do).

The massive M&S salted caramel and chocolate cake was Torrside Monster Act Naturally
A winter strong pale made with summer fruits.

Waiting for the countdown got rid of the regular Gobhoblin
to chime in and toast the new year I had Torrside Monsters Double Sparticus
labelled as an 'Imperial IPA?' at 13.6% I consider the to be the strongest beer I've had
(had a bottle of BD Watt Dickie but it being syrup like I reckon it's no longer beer)
Perhaps if I stopped there I'd have a regular hangover
but hoovering Julie's left over cava, scrump, perry & schnapps
mixed & downed from a jug
mean't that I just got the phone app figured to purchase my tram ticket in time for the inspector,
seriously, a fraction of a second earlier & he would have seen it processing.
I just craped through the short shift on the first
& barely survived the long shift on the 2nd
& might be getting back on the horse lmao

I started the weekend with Burning Sky/Harvey's Last Voyage - a tasty IPA.

Now dialling it up a notch with Beavertown's Skull King. The intense fruity hops burn my tongue....

Excellent - enjoy quaffing the ale....

Another shop worth checking out is Symposium Wine Emporium; they have a selection of beer from the region.

If our team requires drinking alcohol free Budweiser, then I respectfully submit my resignation.

Okay...it isn't the weekend, but I submitted my papers today and will be quitting my job and leaving the UK in June. To celebrate (leaving my job, not the UK), I promptly went over to Cask Pub and Kitchen and enjoyed Hop Chowdah (Mondo) and Imperial Puft (Tiny Rebel). I have to say, Imperial Puft was awesome and a big improvement over Stay Puft...just tons of marshmallow coming through.

    Jump starting the weekend with:
    Brewdog Electric India
    Brewdog Punk IPA
De Dolle Dulle Teve (really old)

The last one is incredibly yeasty and fruity - quite unique.

Finishing up the Fullers & Friends collab 6-pack. I'll probably make a separate post to see what others thought. Mixed bag imho.
Also drinking some homebrew...a citra/simcoe pale ale and a chocolate/bourbon imperial stout.

I recall that beer (fresh) being like a punch in the face with all the phenols, black pepper, and alcohol. I have another that's been aged a year, so I'm interested in seeing how it has changed.
