Oh, I meant to add in my previous post that I was also surprised to see a bunch of Destihl Brewery's Wild Sour series on the shelf at Rapid too. I don't like to be overly harsh, and I haven't had any of their other beers, but I bought a six of their Gose when I was visiting Illinois a couple years back and thought it tasted like someone had let a bunch of Sour Patch Kids dissolve in a can of seltzer water. If you like your sours REALLY sour they might be for you.

Have they been around a while and I hadn't noticed them or are they new to the area?

I've noticed those cans there numerous times and skipped them out of a generic bias against opting for shipped in IPAs blindly. Thanks for the rec, I'll have to check them out.

It's just a really great single hop. I'm sure if I could grab it at only a day old it'd be much tastier, but Ben at 4-6 weeks it's delicious

My bad. Meant Danger Danger. A double double must have been my next drink when I was typing that...

picked up some Wormtown Buddha's Juice. Very pithy which I enjoy so I really like it, but it's def not a "juicebomb" if that's what you think when you see it. I'm having a hard time remember a beer that was this pithy, tbh.

Grabbed the Sierra Nevada 4-Way IPA variety pack at the Chestnut Hill Wegmans, $12.99, and Founders Sumatra Mountain Brown at the Burlington Wegmans, $13.99 (before discovering it was $2 cheaper at Chestnut Hill...). Enjoying them both quite a bit.

Thanks for the tip, their IPA is a great take on the west coast style. I need to try the double and the pale now.

Ran into the Melvin Hubert pale ale on draft at a local restaurant. Tasted so good. It's extremely rare that I order the same beer twice at a restaurant, but I had to make an exception.

Now this is interesting. Styles are obviously fluid and there's plenty of talk about NE IPAs that have more bitterness than others, but this might be the clearest example I've come across of what I can only call a West Coast NE IPA. Well, IPL actually

It's been a while, but I don't even recall Sap being this piney and bitter. I wouldn't call it soft (it's very dry) but it certainly feels thicker and heftier in the mouth than a standard WC IPA. Nice light maltiness too (wheat? Pilsner malt? I don't know enough to know). I don't recall loving their regular IPL but this is a huge winner in my book. Simcoe and Amarillo are the stars according to the label.

Hope you have some luck in finding it, I really think it stands apart from the pack a bit.

And you made me realize I didn't mention where I got it, which was CBC Belmont.

It's a really good IPL, but not as good as some of their other beers. I prefer their dunkel, helles, Vienna, and pilsner. However I like this more then their other seasonal releases like their octoberfest, weissbier, and smoked beer. I think it is similar in quality to kiwi rising. I think there are a ton of IPAs that are just as good if not better then this beer. Some of their other beers are incredible compared to their American peers.

I was really impressed by them when I visited the Stowe location. Great German style beers. Glad to see they pulled off a good IPL too

Ipswich hell bound barleywine, awesome. British style, not sweet, not hoppy, get some, it's that good.
