It’s delicious. The guy who took our order hadn’t heard about the exploding cans but confirmed that they had been told there would be three releases today rather than two.

Hope everyone who wanted KC got it; I’m told San Mateo sold out by 1:15. Guess the detractors on IG didn’t dent demand!

I was really surprised by how quickly King Citra sold out in Berkeley. I didn’t want to rush for the release and by the time I got my shit together they were sold out. This is probably a sign of how things are going to go in 2018.

Do you know when it sold out? Saw an Instagram comment complaining that they sold out in an hour... but maybe that's just typical Instagram comment.

I'm not sure the exact time but they posted an update to Instagram at 1:15PM saying they were sold out (assuming at all taprooms). I'd believe they sold out in an hour in Berkeley.

Wow, I can't remember a release from last year selling out earlier than 5:00, with maybe an exception for Good Conduct. Or maybe I just didn't pay close enough attention. I wonder what changed.

Yea, I think you're right. Although I think Pulp Light sold out pretty soon but that release was towards the end of last year. I'm not sure what's changed either but I really really hope this is not a sign for the future. It's great for FW but I really don't want to have to fight the hype just to get some cans.

They started to sell out faster towards the end of the year, I think. The first release of One Star Review sold out pretty quickly at San Mateo for example, less than 2 hours.

The other change is that they seem to be doing most releases at open these days rather than having things go on sale in the evening whenever a truck could get them there. I'm guessing that 'Thursday around happy hour' had to end when things like King Citra sold out before they closed, but I liked getting cans after work rather than Saturday lunchtime.

This one probably won't stick around, either…

So is there usually a beer week can/bottle release thread? That would be super helpful as I try to plan out my week

there will be a website that aggregates everything beer week related (dinners, tap takeovers, etc). It would be nice if someone just pulled out releases by brewery and day.

Dude, I totally would, but I'm traveling the next couple weeks for work. Plus I'm not good at figuring out how to update a first thread post multiple times, which I think is important for this endeavor. Actually, I'm not even sure if that's possible... See? I'm not the man for this job lol

Chaos Emeralds was decent but definitely not one of my favorites, I preferred Tiger Uppercit over Chaos

I really liked Chaos Emeralds. I found the Saint Thomas to be rather green. And as I getting my growler filled with Chaos....keg blew. So...........I know that's a great position to be in - to be so popular. I got my other growler filled with Eastside which I didn't pre-taste but know from previous batches that it's legit. I'm sure I'll be rewarded tomorrow.
