Yup, the real growing trend in 2018 is going to be super high quality NEIPAs with no line.

What? Now I have to have a decent reason why I shouldn't like muthafuckas?

    I don't like 'em 'cause they're not me . . .

. . . and, also, because they don't know shit about beer, but pretend that they do. They're a bunch of poseurs. Wannabe bitches who are still wet behind the ears, but think that they know everything about beer just because they wait in line at Tree House every time they release more cans.

Learn about beer, all beer, before you think you know something. Then you can come at me, brah.

    Another extract from the article:

    NEIPA is a distinct style.
This isn’t necessarily a reason why NEIPA will continue to grow, but it is an important clarification. New England IPA hasn’t been recognized as an official style or substyle in any beer style guide (as far as I can tell), but it is clearly much different than the previous iterations of IPA. Traditional British IPAs have more hop character than most old world styles, but wouldn’t be considered hop forward by current standards. West Coast IPAs have a ton of hop flavor and aroma, but the piney hops and aggressive bitterness are substantially different than the soft and fruity NEIPAs. The fact that NEIPA is a completely unique style means it attracts different drinkers, and most people I know who love NEIPAs are loyal to the substyle.

    Go "JPA"!?!

    Cheers![/USER]

Because they tend to be bland, characterless, thin-bodied, ugly, and unmemorable. Add in the faddish aspects of the fanatics, and there ya go.

Too bad they don't have some identifier, like gender or skin color. As it is you have to wait for them to identify themselves by beer choice to know who to hate.

Interesting extract. I disagree with the loyalty to the substyle aspect the author mentions at the end of it. Most people who like NEIPA's (me included) don't seem to turn down good west coast IPAs either. Maybe brand loyalty exists but style? I don't see it that way.

Am I in before the Pilsner people pine for craft pilsners and hate on cloudy / turbid / murky / hazy / chewy / foggy / chunky IPA?

You ain't lying. I have had some great times in a beer line, but I am a little tired of it. It is changing a little though. Breweries like Trillium can distro beers without typical releases and slow down lines. It doesnt kill them when something big drops, but you can walk in and get Fort Point almost whenever. Aslin is now following suit and I love it.

Do you really think craft beering would be worthwhile if it didn't provide ample opportunity to cast judgment upon filthy plebs and their laughable hazy ways? Besides, I'm pretty sure I've read that the angle at which one looks down their nose at said plebs is directly correlated to the enlightenmight and significance of one's palate.

I'm OK with disliking people because of the quality of their character. This is one of those circumstances.

I don't hate anyone because of their choice of beer. I dislike them because of how they act regarding their choice of beer. Just like I dislike craft beer geeks who look down on people that drink AALs or something that's not what they'd consider "craft" or something that's not bleeding edge enough.
