Drinking my first can of Mylar Bag since August, which was a mediocre batch. This can is great, thankfully.

That’s because galaxy hops are what make beer great again. ...space is the place...

Am I the only one that thinks that double dry-hopping the "Daydream" beers does nothing to help them? If the big appeal of the Daydream series is to add a creamy/smooth component to the beers, the DDH component seems to negate a lot of what the oats/lactose aim to achieve. I really enjoyed Double Citra Daydream and Double Mosaic Daydream more than I enjoyed their DDH counterparts.

Pretty much impossible to have your cake and eat it too with this style.

So many of my favorite beers recently have been galaxy forward. OH Citra+Galaxy, Space Daydream, All Infinity Everything, DDH Galaxy, dhop 5 and Can It Be All So Simple by Equilibrium, and Green has become my favorite TH beer.

I love Galaxy hops and most of the ones from New Zealand as well!

Idaho 7 has become one of my favorites local place uses it in their pale and I can't get enough of it. I remember OH did one a while back too, I don't really follow them much. Anyone know if they have used it again at all?

Sixpoint had a small batch of an Idaho 7 beer on tap at their last release, it was really good.

Ok, here is the announcement you have all been waiting for : )! Meetup of OH BA people will be on February 17th at 12pm at OH. I apologize in advance for anyone who can't make this date, with the number of people interested would have been impossible to pick a date everyone could make.

As a next step can people do the following:

    1) Go this doc. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Hkm9Fsfo1B0WyYry18rwwYwTTDLGQvgW75qEuIXZfj4

    2) If your name is already on the list, update columns F and G with whether you are attending and how many. If your name is not on the list, please add it and fill out F and G.

Anyone has any questions or anything logistically that needs to be suggested, feel free.

From reading the thread last week, looks like arriving at 11 AM would've got you no line and all cans available. Is that typical these days for non-hyped, no collabs etc releases? Normally don't do OH but wanna grab some cans for a buddy visiting next week. I suppose HV and EQ having can releases on Saturday too should help some with crowds at OH.

IMO yes. That said, I didn't go to the last release, but the week before I think I got there at 10:45 and was able to get all cans with 0 line, but Citra Daydream sold out maybe 20-30 minutes later. If their still doing 6 POS systems they can get through the initial line fairly quickly, so if you arrive between 10:45-11 I think you'll be in and out with most, if not all, the beers.

I think your priorities are out of whack here ! A lifelong relationship with someone you love or a drunken afternoon with random strangers off of the Internet!

    Congrats!

Between HV, Eq, Brix, and OH Long Island releases, I'm expecting a pretty quiet release tomorrow. I've misjudged these things before though haha.

I always forget how many other breweries are doing these releases now as well. With HV and EQ doing one I'd agree with you, tomorrow should be pretty quiet. 11am arrival for me.

This is basically gonna be my MO. I’m gonna lurk in this thread and check their IG and if there’s still cans I’ll take the trip. Patchogue isn’t that close but it’s a hell of a lot easier for me to get to than Brooklyn.

I’d love to see people try to drink on the sidewalk in the village of Patchogue. That won’t go over well.

Weird you say that. I had a DDH Mylar from this last release and it was a completely different color and much much better than that last batch. Wonder what the difference was. Almost like it was a completely different beer
