Agree with that..Angry Chair can bottle Horse Piss right now slap a American Pharoah Label on it and The Flippers will be in line the night before so they can rotate through the line several times and it will be sold out a half hour after onsale..80 Percent of the line or more at AC Bottle Sales these days are Speculators as you never see any of them at any other Bay Area Beer Events or Sales

You guys might be right, I don’t sell beers in the secondary, so maybe there is enough demand for those people, but Dave’s ba barleywine didn’t sell out same day when it was released last year.... either way, I’ll see everyone in line tomorrow

BAIGCCS changed EVERYTHING. Was the turning point when people stopped caring about cycle and everyone jumped over to the angry chair bandwagon as it’s still limited enough to keep demand over supply.

At the last release, there was a group of 12 college-aged students ahead of me in line. After the release and while walking to my car I saw the group huddled in a circle in the Mortar & Pestle parking lot while 1 of them handed the others cash.

Are you telling me that what I witnessed was one kid paying a group of people to wait in line to buy the beers so he could then resell all the beers on the black market? Sounds unbelievable.

Someone should put this on a shirt. And then they should burn that shirt.

The Bruery has been doing a chronology series for the past couple years now and to me 18 months in barrels is when the oak begins to really take over and unbalance the beer. But they haven't stuffed a stupidly sweet beer into a barrel so it may take that long for the oak to balance it out. Problem being that 18 months of oak flavors don't taste very good compared to the flavor contributions early on. Them claiming flavors like a tawny port of a madeira wine are interesting but I've yet to see a bourbon barrel pull off that miracle. At 30 bucks I'm not willing to take the risk.

They didn't go quite this far, but I just had Saturday's releases and they're both pretty mediocre, as most of the recent AC releases have been. That these sell out in hours and Double Barrel Vanilla Imperial Milk Porter languishes in CCB's case is pretty hilarious.

Yea they use that “Double Barrel” too loosely. Should just say barrel aged and in the description say blended together from 2 different barrels. IMO

The Ccb dbv milk Porter was double barreled. First as a whiskey milk Porter then put into this bourbon vanilla barrels that Ccb and cycle have gotten ahold of.

There probably needs to be a better term for distinguishing between the blended barrel beers like DBH and a double barrel version. Maybe one is called a 2 barrel beer and the other a double barrel. But to be honest I’ve liked all the blended versions better than any double barrel beer I’ve had.

I swung by on Sunday to try both. El Cucuy was pretty solid with some nice pepper heat. BA No Promises was surprisingly good. It wasn't tannic or super oaky like I anticipated. It does somehow have some flavors that taste like wine barrel aging. BA No Promises is super sweet though and I say that as a person that will solo a 750 of Chocolate Rain.
