Doing a Pizza Port 4 locations trip

    Oh how I miss living in downtown Carlsbad! Saturday I will drive down from Long Beach to OB, then to Solana Beach, then to Carlsbad and to San Clemente. Hope the wet hops are pouring. Can't view the web cams since they are updating the web site. I know that there have been new breweries popping up down there over the last few years, is there a must stop amongst the newbies?

    Just got back from a trip to SoCal, and I can tell you that as of Sunday, Get to the Hopper was still on at the San Clemente location.

    I'm interested in other people's answers for other breweries to try for my inevitable return visit next year.

    On bid-ness in SD, so stopped into the OB location for first time last night. Get to the Hopper was on, as was Get Wet, and Man-Baby. Loved me some Man-Baby.

    I recommend SC's Get To The Hopper, although it has "faded" a bit since they tapped it a few weeks ago. When fresh, it was the best wet hop IPA I've had.

    Ok I just did a quick search of new breweries in SD since I lived there and it's a lot! Pick one out of these as a must stop into:

    Hess
    Iron Fist
    Latitude 33
    Mother Earth
    Stumblefoot
    Manzanita
    New English

    Of course will need a tasting room on Saturday at these breweries!

    Brand new Vista brewery I just found out about today: Indian Joe Brewing. I haven't tried any of their beers, but I like the look of their beer menu: it includes several versions of the same beer with different hops, or fermented with a different yeast. Neat idea. And there's a Russian Imperial Stout in there, which is always a good sign to me.

    Fuck Hess.

    Alpine and Societe mandatory. imo, they are the best 2 breweries in SD if your focus is IPAs.
