    If I go, absolutely.

Have not waited in line since 3rd Anniversary I don't think, but this FOMO is very strong. Guesses as to whether this line will surpass the taters nonsense? Want to say no considering the weather forecasting a low in the upper teens.

I say it does not surpass taters and if you show up before 9 you should be fine. I also think there’s a very good chance 2/3 beers make it through the line, 4th anni for sure as it appears to be a double batch.

Guys let’s not kid ourselves. In all likelihood at least some (most likely the 4th) of the beers will last. But people will be lining up at moron o’clock because many people be very stupid

Not to start this shit again (although I guess I am) but why are they stupid?

    Because it's just beer.

Standing outside for 10+ hours in freezing temperatures drinking high ABV bombers the whole time then getting in your car and driving home. What part of that is not stupid?

In this instance because people will probably line up incredibly early (guessing there will be one hero that sits outside on their cooler starting at closing the night before), despite the fact there’s almost certainly enough beer to not require crazy acts of FOMO

And to clarify further, while I would never do it personally, I understand that if there was an incredibly limited amount, that more hardcore people would be willing to line up for it (for hours) in order to guarantee an allotment. What I don’t understand is why it happens when there’s plenty of beer, and others will dropping by late morning and grabbing some with no wait. The former is a case of “everyone values their time differently”. The latter is stupid.

Agreed, but I believe @rozzom was talking about the people lining up super early, "moron o’clock" .

Sorry I should have asked what time moron o’clock was first. I will not be there the night before but I may get there between 3 and 4am. I dont think that makes me stupid but I guess we can agree to disagree.

Why do you even care how other people spend their own time? Also if you are going to put the words "moron" and "stupid" in the same sentence, then you might want to check your grammar. :stuck_out_tongue:

Because this is the internet and it’s my god-given right to dictate how others should spend their time [passive-aggressive emoji]

I don't wait overnight and have only very rarely gotten to a release before 7:30, but when people ask why I wait in line for beer, I always say its my version of concert tickets. I am too young to have ever really had to wait in line for concert tickets so this is my version of that.

I actually enjoy the line for the most part. I think there are worst things in the world than waiting in a line with a bunch of people with a similar interest. Are there some real dbags? Sure. But most of them are good people with a shared hobby.

I’m planning on getting there 11-12. Hoping for a minimal wait and at least getting 4th.

I mean this seems pretty unnecessary since it sounds like they'll have a lot of beer, but you do you I guess.

Oh im not disagreeing that it seems unnecessary but its just the habit I have gotten into mostly stemming from the fact that I usually need to be back home early so it ensures I am on my way home by 10. For these big releases though it mostly stems from hanging out with friends and getting a good spot in the tasting room afterwards, before it is packed.

Either way I’m not saying everyone should do it and not saying people are stupid for going later in the day because they aren’t hanging in line or might miss the beer. I’m just saying that some of the hated “line lifers” are hated unnecessarily (although some of them are definitely hated necessarily)
