I’m new to Hoarders this year and have never done a pickup before, have only shipped to central Cali. I’ll be in SoCal this weekend so I figured I’d just pick up but have a question I couldn’t find the answer to elsewhere. I know how the various shippers work and all, but for pickup, are the bottles packaged in shippers as well? Or do I need to come prepped for transporting a ton of bottles? I’ll be grabbing my Hoarder’s stuff as well as my dad’s Reserve package and our purchased allocations so I just want to make sure I’m prepared. Thanks everyone. Cheers!

They come in normal box for a case of 12. Last time I went they had shippers available for purchase but I don't know how common that is.

Make sure you email them at least 24 hours before pick up.

@BruerJoel I placed a 12 bottle shipping order two weeks ago that was to include my reserve package and other bottles. I hadn't heard anything. Am I to assume that I have to wait for these items to come in as well? If that's the case, it would be nice to get an email notifying us of the situation.

Went to the Beer/Cheese pairing this weekend and while it was way more crowded than I thought it would be and got off to a slower start than it should have, it was a solid event. The cheeses they used in the pairings were, for the most part, fantastic and the pairings were pretty spot on. Also, first time trying White Chocolate with Cherries and this year's PB&T and really enjoyed both. I was surprised at how much PB I got out of the PB&T (not anywhere near the level of the BT w/PB they served at the Anniversary party years ago, although that had tons of actual PB in it with lots of oil and floaties!), but definitely picked up PB in the nose and in the finish. I've heard that there is a lot of variation in the amount of PB, even bottle to bottle, as a result of the unpredictable nature of the peanut flour. Not sure if that's the case, but I heard it nonetheless.

I was there as well. I expected like 40 people to be there, but they said 320 people were there. The other group that was supposed to be at my table never showed so my guest and I got 2 rounds of everything. Wasn't a huge fan of Ngongo when I first tried it but it was paired really well with the cheese and it actually made the beer much more enjoyable to me

Same with me - I didn't like Ngongo when I tried a bottle at home, but it was really tasty when paired with the cheese. Same with Watch This. Maybe the Bruery should offer cheese pairing suggestions when they release beers!

The last few times I visited the terreux location, a merchant was selling fancy cheeses inside, by the barrels. Don't know how often, but check it out!

They post that on their social media, it seems to be on a monthly basis?

It's usually the 3rd or 4th Wed of each month and it's the same cheese company Vagabond doing the pairings. I went to a couple last year and they were both really solid.

The opener and glass won't come with the bottles, you have to also purchase a small merch shipper to get those sent.

Will if you ship 11 bottles in a 12 bottle shipper. Did it last year. Confirmed that they would do it this year. Way to expensive just to ship the merch separate.

Good to know, that's cheaper and more efficient. I inquired about that this year because I got just the initial package shipped on its own and they said for the 4 bottles and swag I had to purchase a 6 bottle shipper and a small merch shipper. That was expensive and inefficient. I should of waited until I had more bottles purchased but I wanted the beer right away haha.

I'm surprised you needed a separate box for the glass and bottle opener. Should have been plenty of room with two open slots. Granted, I don't know how the six bottle shipper is laid out. I always get the 12 bottle shipper. But it's been a while since I've received just released beers.
