Map of States Suggestion

That would be cool, but I think it'd be a lot of work for little return.

 

Like I did to check off styles (four left), I have a spreadsheet listing the states I have yet to conquer (twenty left). It also lists the most popular distributed beers in the state, and which nearby states I might find them in.

 

I'd love to have the states and styles tracked for me. Keeping track of them isn't a huge deal, but I don't like how some beers don't seem to count for their states, kona used to not count for Hawaii.

 

Gonna go out on a limb and assume you can cross Massachusetts and California off your list. Only 48 to go, hope that helps! Cheers!

 

I do the Excel thing too, then I added the filter gizmo where I can pick what I want to see from each column. One is states, one is styles, one is drink again yes/no, BA score, my score, ABV, etc. Was doing that long before BA and it's a habit so I just keep it running.

Seems like adding a link to the website would be a major undertaking for little gain as @NeroFiddled stated.

 

It seems like this topic came up about a year or so ago and Todd indicated that the new version of BA would have some additional search parameters of the database. I hope that my answer here is an accurate teaser for what is to come someday.

 

If you click "Beers" on your own profile, it will tell you how many US states you've had at least one beer from.

Then, if you click on Beers - top beers, you get the overall top 250. From there, you can click on each state and you will find out how many of the top 100 you've had from that state; that's a pretty quick way of taking a first pass at things (ie, if you have had beers from 30 states, I'd expect you to have had one of the top 100 from at least 25, and probably more like 29, of those.)

 

Beer stats? That there is funny.

 

Years ago, a members breweries, states, countries, and styles counts we're a part of that members profile. During one of the resets, that info was put aside, with the promise that it would return later. It isn't later yet.

 

It's still there -- just click on "Beers" under your little profile box (it shows up on the right side of the page listing all your beers...)
