Some days you just feel like taking it slow and ease your way into your beers:

I wanna thank myself for finally buying myself a great beer and for the spontaneous doodle which does not reflect how good this beer is or depict any BAs other than myself.

    Cheers!

After the bitter DIPA, I’m going in a different direction, and this clearance bin buy from last week turns out to be an unexpected gem - Jolly Pumpkin “Noel de Calabaza” (2014 Vintage Reserve Series):

A BA Flanders Red/Christmas style, it pours a ruby brown with long lasting khaki head/cap retention and moderate to heavy lace; some thin legs to boot! Wet horse blanket, spicy berries, cola, and straw nose. Barnyard funk, sour cherries, dark bread sweet malt; oak; tart fruit; and a very pleasant undercurrent of cocoa/chocolate bread pudding. Medium lite body, moderate minus carbonation; Barrel dryness, yet soft and pleasant feeling. A amazing Christmas ale - sour, lightly spicy fruit, light sweet chocolate malt, all so well balanced and the tongue coating is sublime. I’d drink more Noel ales during the holidays if they enjoyed this deft touch. Cheers Tuesday bar mates!

[IMG] So a little story about how @jzeilinger and my brewmance started. 2 years ago I was weeping on WBAYDN about never trying Hopslam and it was a top 3 must try. JZ messages me I will send you some, just give me an address. Many boxes later, after turning me into a trader I can honestly say the last two years have been the greatest beer years of my life and today I got my 6 pack of slam, from a guy who to quote @WesMantooth puts the B in BA. Thanks my friend and I hope you and I can sip a beer together soon. Cheers

Good afternoon, all! I was out running a few errands this afternoon and came home to find a porch bomb from the very generous @Squire123. It was harder to get into than Fort Knox, but, man, it was worth the time it took. (Really, Squire, how do you tape a box from the inside? :grinning:) While I sort through his awesome selection, I'm having some dinner and drinking this Sam '76 I picked up today. I'm once again off the reservation with my rating, but I can't help it. I think this is some great stuff.

I'm imagining what HyVee W&S could do with this space if they stopped piling their garbage in it:

Apropos of nothing, I'm back down to 103 styles. Seems they reclassified Hoof Hearted Belloq as an English Dark Mild Ale. It used to be an English Pale Mild Ale. Truth be told, I was actually expecting this. Now it's back to "The Quest."
