Noon Whistle (IL)

Funny, I saw these just arrive at Binny's today and wondered how fresh they were...no dates, and I'm not up to speed with all things NW, so I didn't know when they were from. Is Vortex usually one of the better ones? I was thinking about grabbing some, but held off due to not knowing.

 

You may be on to something. My local got 1 case of the gummy vortex along with a new shipment of squishy. There are best by dates on the sides of the cans and the vortex cans best by date is a month short of squishy’s.

He also expressed concern the gummy was from an older batch. We may have unofficially settled it via best by dates...

 

What towns are we seeing these arrive

 

I saw them canning Vortex when I was there Sunday. Don't understand why they would distribute before their own release...you sure?

 

Picked some up earlier from Printers Row wine in the loop. Has the drink by date of 3/26.

 

I’m not sure what the difference is but the Squishy I picked up had a best by date of 3/26. The Vortex which I left behind had a best by of 2/23 (iirc). The beer manager claimed they only received 1 case of vortex With the shipment of fresh Gummy today.

Picked up 2 4-packs from binnys on Grand. Full stack currently there. Expiration of 3/25. Sure tastes good to me. Staggeringly smooth. Pure orange juice.

I have not been impressed with the Gummy's at all. Saw the stack of Gummy Vortex at Binny's Grand and thought I'd give it a shot, and this one is surprisingly good. I need to go back and get another four pack.

Vortex is probably their best can release IMO, maybe even one of their best NE offerings.

 

I'm a big fan of this batch of Vortex - the mouth feel is great, and there's a nice, grapefruit-y hop bite on the end. Well done

The Hop Prism Turquoise is great as well. It's hopped exclusively with Citra, and it's REALLY Citra forward. They could market it as a NE Style honestly:

 

I was surprised that Turquoise was so hazy. I double checked my photo from the summer and it was hazy too apparently. I thought it looks like a west coast IPA but my memory was mistaken.

 

My wife and I got 6x4packs of vortex we always go through it like water

They nailed it this time, and I say that after being pretty disappointed in the first Vortex. Also, more Gummypocalypse on 02/11 according to their board.

 

Picked up some gummy vortex in Northbrook the other day and it's tasting pretty good. What's with the crazy pull top, this is the first time I've seen one like this where it almost opens the whole top of the can. Great for chugging. LOL

 

It’s called a 360 lid and yes, its for drinking straight out of the can, if that’s your thing
