Went a lot smoother for me this time than last year's.

I remember tickets being available for a couple of hours in December 2016 when the date didn't work for me. Such is the beer world today, I guess.

I got a ticket this time - went for the first session with the barleywine as the extra. I haven't tried either malevolence or regular, so I've been wanting to do this.

Well that was surprisingly easy especially since it was on BPT. I'll be hitting up the evening session - anyone else going to that one?

I dunno about that. I remember 2016 going very fast because I got shut out.

I got lucky with one that must have timed out. 11am session around 12:30.

It was definitely on for more than an immediate sellout - go check the middle of the previous page on this thread. I couldn't go because we went to Dark Horse 4 Elf, so I wasn't paying attention and forgot about it the day tickets went on sale. I checked back after lunch that day and remember I could have bought tickets. It's been over a year, but it had to be around 1 or so.

Like I said, those days seem to be gone for barrel aged bottle releases.

Maybe they swung the pendulum too far. $60 is a solid deal for these 3 beers.

You only get 2 not all 3 depending on the session you got.

I would pay $60 for 2 Calientes. Personally not interested in bundles I don’t necessarily want

I kind of felt the same way but looking at More charging 43(w/ fees) for non BA and Spiteful 63(w/ fees) for BA stuff and a pour of each. Made me change my mind and grab a ticket. 2pm session btw

I think $60 is borderline. $25 per bottle ($25 seems slightly high for a BA barleywine/stout, but I know people can get it), $5 per 5 oz. pour.

The only issue I had with past versions of the event is that the BA beers weren't actually on tap, so you couldn't buy more pours. I wouldn't be surprised if that has changed with them having their own place now.

That's pretty much my take. I'm not going to crap all over the other beers because I have not had them, but I'm also not really interested in purchasing them at that price either. The Caliente, on the other hand, I would grossly over pay.

You all cray!! The price is very reasonable. $25 for 16oz bottles of BCS variants? What about 2 bottles of Assassin for $100? Oh, and the bars in the area selling 5oz for $15!!!

Yeah sucks that they essentially pulled a shady bottle shop move by bundling but 63 and the pours sounds better than secondary I suppose.

And to not have to worry about trying to track it down, or pay secondary is worth a little premium. Let's be honest here. They know that Caliente probably fetches more than $60 on the secondary by itself. I give them credit for not going overboard with the pricing.
