What Do You Buy By The Case?

Do stores give discounts for purchasing by the case? I thought I remember reading Whole Foods does but maybe I read it wrong.

My local store does, 10% I believe. I have to ask though.

Come to think of it, I only did this one time with Hoptimum 4 packs, so I'm not sure if they would do it on a cheaper beer, or a beer that comes in 12 packs.

 

I buy nothing by the case, except a recent case of Zhukov bombers because I knew I'd be trading. Realistically I should buy Sierra Nevada Stout by the case. I guess I never see it by the case, just sixes. Maybe I have to ask them if they have it by the case in the back. But I basically always want it on hand as a go-to. When I want a beer for a non-reviewing purpose, I either want something light and refreshing or I want a stout, and this is the stout for the job.

 

It usually depends on the store and/or state law. Every place (in state) I buy cases, I pay less per bottle than the six-pack price per bottle for the same beer.

In NJ, you can join NewJerseyCraftBeer and they have over 220 stores that give out discounts, you get a club membership card and updates on events in NJ. I love it!

 

Thanks fellas, just wasn't sure if it was common practice or a myth. Now to call my local liquor store and see if they can set aside a case of SN Narwhal for me.

 

Founders Breakfast Stout x2, Stone IRS, Stone Double Bastard and Stone Old Guardian. Might have to for SN celebration and Brooklyn Black chocolate stout too.

 

Probably going to grab a case of Victory at Sea. Never bought a case before, but getting it at cost makes it a much better deal.

I buy cases quite often. They tend to be more sessionable styles. The last handful have been:

Victory Headwaters
Lagunitas Pils
Victory Lager
Lowenbrau

 

none of the supermarkets I go to has any cases for craft beer. Just 6packs and 12packs.

Bigfoot (5 cs every year and cellar it)
Hoptimun
Heady topper
Funny how three of the four are from Sierra Nevada

 

BCBS this year, and Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout. BCBS is my go to "day off" big breakfast beer, and Brooklyn BCS is my desert beer. I'd buy Old Rasputin by the case as well but can only ever find 4paks. Rasputin gets me through the rest of the breakfast year when my BCBS runs out hehe.

I don't buy many beers by the case. Last year my dad and I purchased 3 cases of FBS between us, it did not last long lol.

This year the only cases I plan on buying are of SN Celebration, which I hear should be released in the next couple of days and thus hitting shelves possibly next week (in Central IL).
