I don’t know about OG, Bud. Old maybe. And yes we have had a few back in the day. Speaking of....we should get together soon. Maybe at BWSB. Our old stomping ground.....back in the day.

 

There are so many things that are absurd about the craft beer world right now, I'm starting to become desensitized to it all. If folks wanna wait hours or camp out overnight for beer, that's on them. What I take issue with is how such practices have become normalized and spoken about as if it's a defining component to the "culture." Not gonna lie, it's kind of embarrassing.

 

Done, think we can survive a pint of HOF ?

Old enough to be your dad. I have 4-5 years to go before I will retire. I started drinking beer when I was in high school at the age of 14. My first experience was Budweiser. And yes i came home drunk and throwing up all over my mom and dad at 2am. It was ugly. They grounded me from going to my first ever concert, Pink Floyd at the Forum. But I somehow snuck out and went anyways. But that night with Budweiser was a lesson. Me and my buddy’s never drank Buttweiser again. We would always buy the OG Lowenbrau, Michelob, Michelob Dark, and anything and everything imported. So I been through a lot in my beer drinking days and still do. I don’t know how much longer my liver and body will hold up with all this great hops these days. Only time will tell.

 

I’m keeping an eye on the hop cam. I am waiting for HoF to show up at the HB location so I can fill a crowler. I thought about going to LB yesterday but had to many distractions. One being the Loot keg. So freaking delicious. Did you stop by Mr Kegs?

I should add here......at 14 I was the one and only buying beer and alcohol in our group of friends. No fake ID card needed. I had a mustache and sometimes beard back in high school. And all purchased here in Huntington Beach. Yes I have been pulled over by the HB cops a few times back then. I was escorted home once and the other 2 times they took all of our beers. I’m not stupid these days. It’s a different world and life style. Different HB cops.

Does Monkish fill other brewery branded growlers? Thinking of flying some empty 750s with me...

 

Yes, but logos have to be covered. They sell 750ml growlers there for only $5 too, in case you don't pack any.

 

Thanks for this info as I hope to hit them up next month for growlers. When you say the logos have to be covered, does that mean I just have to put some black tape over it myself before come in, or do they cover it up with a sticker of theirs when they fill it?

I’m sure they’d appreciate you doing it, but also they will cover it with like a trash bag type material. They fill 32 oz growlers along with the 750’s and 64 oz.

 

the thing I've always wondered about Gunz, and I'm sure all of us have, is how is the gun show? does he lift?

Every time I've gone with a 3rd party growler, I just use painter's tape. Mostly because it lets me doodle on it. So I make a weird spoof on a Monkish beer. Maybe toss in a dad joke.
