Bald guy with a goatee? If so that's Scott the main beer guy there. He's always been a straight shooter and I've never known him to "hide" anything

 

In my head I actually kind of imagined this (had to imagine it because I was salty about missing out yesterday). BCBS is such a complex beer already, that I can see a maple influence dulling that a little.

FYI Binnys Lakeview is out of Northwoods (checked around 10 am today). They had two cases and blew through them. For what it's worth, I've always felt like they're open with me about what they'e got. Kris is legit.

They’ve always been open with me as well, and they’ve got a couple relatively newer folks (one is a guy that came from the Logan Squate store and another is a lady) that have been really nice since arriving at Lakeview.

 

I mean, it's not like they're the people from Lincoln Park who ran Black Friday 2017. #bitter4eva

 

As someone that has been in the warehouse more than a few times in the past couple of years, I can say that I have not seen any BYR, Prop '13, Bramble, Cherry, or OG Rare. I know GI still has some, but it's not sitting in the warehouse waiting for eventual distribution. The 3 1/2 pallets of VR that I saw there 14 months ago is now 3 cases as of 2 weeks ago. So it's not going to be too much longer that this stuff is going to be gone forever. I did see 2 pallets of Northwoods, but it looks like that has now shrunk too. I wonder if the two pallets of coffee that was right next to it will hit the shelves anytime soon?

 

I can only dream of trying a BC variant someday. Wouldn’t mind trying northwoods or prop. Really wished I could find a reserve. Did have one sample of 15 coffee was ok but still liked regular better.

 

Don’t dream, trade! Or just come to Chicago some random weekend and ask around. The greatest city in the world would welcome you with open arms and BC bud...errrr, variants!... aplenty!

 

Makes you wonder where it all went. That's, what, 2500 bottles? A few hundred went to Binnys LP, but what about the other 2k? Hopefully went to folks who are actually going to drink it.

 

I genuinely wonder how much is sitting at the tap room waiting to be put into the cooler for onsite consumption - of anything vintage that they have.

 

FWIW my guy at Binny’s Bolingbrook told me that it was all pulled back from Sams Club.

 

Ha only get to Chicago for Dark Lord hopefully again this year! Deth Tar was amazing first taste last year.

I don’t get much of value to trade from this area. Mostly just Darkness around here and that is all over no days. Same with Praire maybe some MN beers but nothing too special.

 

Wait. You go to Dark Lord Day and you can't find any BCBS variants to try? I feel like I drink every variant when I'm there.

dammit. was hoping the impending apocalyptic snow doomsday would drive people away.

 

They had a really solid week. I went two nights ago for a 10-oz pour of CBS (think how incredible that would have sounded one year ago) and it wasn't even all that crowded at 5PM. Went last night for a couple of the deconstructed Prairie BOMB variations. Can't go tonight, but sure would have loved to try reserve on draft again.

 

Prop kicked at 3:40, after being tapped at 3. Reserve kicked a little after. I managed to get the last coffee at 4:50.

On the bright side, they still have all the Prairie Bombs, which are outstanding.
