Saw em also but I'm not a fan of the regular and yes I am dumb enough to buy a bottle each year. Seems to me putting lipstick on a pig with the perfume flavor additions.

It's a decent price ($17-18 for 750ml) but Oil Man isn't really a hyped BA stout here in Colorado. Also the Snowed In variants from Copper Kettle seem to be sticking around. I wonder if people are experiencing choice overload?

Probably. I also think people feel "I can buy that any time" so they pass up anything zany that is readily available. It has taken years for Dry Dock's signature beers to finally get some attention.
After the first batch of Oil Man (which had issues IMO), I think it's turned into a pretty solid beer. With Copper Kettle, I feel the opposite. Their flagship stuff was a little hit and miss early, but the were doing the pastry stout thing pretty well 4-5 years ago. Yet I think they've flip flopped a bit. I still wonder if that early MCS gold medal put them on a path they didn't intend to be on.

I agree with this. I've noticed quite a few stouts sitting around that used to go very quickly. I'm curious if the widespread availability of BA stouts at a relatively low price point (such as BA Fidy for $9 a can or so) has reduced the amount that people are willing to spend on beers that don't carry a ton of trade value.

Also out there are a couple sleepers:
Wild Woods BA Black Smoke and Mockery Schizophrenic Narcoleptic.
Theyre both about $15/16 for the bombers.

I saw yesterday that Bligh's '18 will be in Buffalo Trace and Heaven Hill barrels this year. Spoke with one of their guys and apparently Stranahans sells their barrels exclusively to someone else now (not sure who).
It'll be interesteing to see how Bligh's changes. But with Heaven Hill barrels involved, it's most likely only positive

Pretty sure Stranahans barrels go straight to Breckenridge because of their shared illuminati ties.

I can think of several instances where a brewery starts packaging the beer that won medals.

    I'm liking it alot.
First thing I noticed, it is rich. Viscous. No thin Imp Stout here.
A little boozy, mainly on the back end, a little sting there, but Im ok with it. Some might want it to settle a bit

We were getting Stranhan's barrels even when the deal with Breckenridge went down. We got some for the 2017 beers, but then we were cut off midstream because they were being used for internal projects. My guess is they're being used at other distilleries under the Proximo umbrella. Can't really fault them for that.

2017 Bligh's and the Pumpkin Double Porter were all Heaven Hill (I'm personally a fan of the whiskeys that come out of that lineage. Mostly Elijah Craig and Larceny), and I was extremely happy with the results.

So yes, 2018 beers will be Heaven Hill and Buffalo Trace (also a fan of the BT lineage. What's not to love about Blanton's, Weller, and Pappy?) just to mix it up a little. That includes Bligh's, Pumpkin Double Porter, and the return of Imperial Stout.

The 2018 Double Apricot Blonde (in "Colorado Whiskey" barrels) was actually supposed to be the 2017, but it just wasn't ready when it was scheduled for release or really the rest of the year.
