Twin Cities Bottle Hunt - 2018

So....has anyone tried it yet?

 

I thought it was good, but I was hoping for great. I think it'll age really well

 

Whereabouts? Stores in South Minneapolis seem pretty tapped out, pretty quickly.

Whole Foods downtown had about a dozen left as of an hour ago, limit one.

 

Waiting impatiently for it to go on tap at the brewery.

And some bright boy entered 2017 BA Darkness as 2018 BA Darkness. Can't wait until someone searches for the 2017, can't find it, & we have dueling entries.

 

THEN WHY IS IT NOT ON THE WEBSITE!!!

I checked uptappdddddddd (& I see BA removed that word from my last post, so it doesn't make much sense now) & didn't look like there were any entries. Guess I need to up my sleuthing game. Thanks!

 

Had a pour at the brewery last night. 15>16>17. It is a very different brew than prior years. Was too sweet for me, but was not a bad brew.

 

Second smaller drop of CBS hitting Western Wisconsin this week, delivered today to Hudson and River Falls.

 

Any non-infected Big Bad Baptista floating around out there?

3 out of 4 of mine were infected. Happy to find out they were infected as I thought I was disappointed in this release, but now sad as I am drinking my only and last bottle and really enjoying it.

 

Where are you located? Total Wine Chan and Minnetonka both have some left from the non infected batch.

 

Located in Albertville and work in Mendota Heights, so Minnetonka is on the way.

Where is Junkyard Brewing distribution in the NW or central metro? Really enjoyed the Guava shake-o-matic!

 

I saw 6 or so cans of Guava at Surdyks last night. It is damn good!

 

Top Ten Andover and Blaine both get them.

 

It's good, however, it's not as good as prior vintages. It tastes very fresh without much barrel. They said it was first use barrels, can't really tell, I guess 3 months wasn't enough.

 

Found a few stores around Hopkins area that had it delivered yesterday and still had some left.

Any BA Darkness still hanging around EP area?

 

Had side-by-side with non-BA 17 Darkness tonight. Both were really great. The BA is less whiskey-forward than past years, but I don't find that to be a bad thing. Barrel notes really complemented the base.

 

I agree with benjoh - I really enjoyed BA Darkness. Very smooth mellow flavor added from the barrels. Not at all harsh, no need to age this one. Drink up!
