Thanks! Long time OH lurker first time poster thread. I used to spend my Saturdays in line in Herndon, VA for Aslin, now for OH fame. I forget what life was like before NE IPA.

Just got here. About five on line. Scooped up all four. Had cases lined up along the wall by bar. Tough to say how many but probably best to arrive soon.

I think it's mostly the first and a smidge of the second. There are certainly a few curmudgeons that bemoan haze, oats, and lactose when that eventual Oat Cream IPA drops, but like @rozzom said, the banter is mostly harmless though sometimes a little testy.

As a die hard hip hop lover was amped to hear Buckshot playing in the taproom when I walked in. I wished I could have stayed to have a brew but needed to get my cans and back home to the wife and 2 year old son. For what it’s worth my wife loved the Short Dark and Wired so she was able to relax considering the little one refuses to nap on weekends. Btw-this Mosaic is so damn smooth. Painting the laundry room now and sipping one. Nice little Sunday...

hazebois are lame, making a whole day around morning drinking while waiting in line every weekend is lame, complaining about it on message boards is lame, reviewing beer is lame, discussing beer is lame, beer cats are lame, taking photos of every beer you drink is lame, collecting glassware is lame, out of towners are lame, entitled locals are lame, beer line flea markets is lame. case limits are lame, lowered limits are lame . everybody triggered yet?

    but drinking beer is cool.

just left other half and it was pretty dead. looked like they had plenty of everything left.

I think I like ACE more than 4th. 4th is mellowing out to an incredible soft juice already. Attractive for many, but I like those hops burn a little. For that reason, I thought the collab ACE from a few months back was maybe a little better than this batch.

Not sure if I fit the 'bemoan' category, but I do prefer the non-lactose versions better in general. This by no means indicates I don't like IPAs with oats or lactose. DDH DMDD is a great beer and I grab it when/if I can, but if I had the choice of all variants, my order goes DMD > DDH DMD > DDH DMDD. Same cannot be said for all, Space Daydream > Space Diamonds for me but both are delicious.

I think most of us oldies here see the behavior of hazeboiz (not The Hazeboiz) as more leaning toward immature and disrespectful, and those are the people we lump into that category and not really your definition. While I don't see the need to stand in line for hours any more with the plethora of good options out there, if you want to wait in line and act disciplined while sharing beers with friends or new acquaintances that is the differentiating factor for many of us in this thread.

Haha, I didn't have any particular beomaners in mind, it's more the loss of perspective when someone wants to be outraged that everything is lactose'd and oat'd up to create lines, hype, and sellouts. Though I concede, that statement is partially true. My temporary hero was whoever went through and pointed out something like 8 of 34 cans met that description over a few releases.

There's not as much "line shaming" as there used to be in this thread, but people SHOULD be called out for being obnoxious in line imo (let's bring back Other Half's most wanted!) I wait in a lot of the lines and sometimes have a pour or two but am uninterested in getting smashed before 930 and causing a scene... Sadly, lines seem to be part of a subculture of craft beer. I agree with you that we have plenty of great options that don't require lines, but I'd still rather wait in line to get beer that I perceive as a bit better.

Also Idaho 7 > DDH ACE!

And moments later they sell out of Idaho 7. Everybody must have believed me and rushed down.

Having a Tough Call that was sneaking around in the back of the fridge. Nothing wrong with this beer.

Just cracked a can of DDH Double Citra Daydream from the 01/13 release and it's tasting amazing right now. A little time has really helped create the balance between hoppy and creamy that I look for in these oat cream IPAs.

The release looks awesome but not too crazy that most won’t still be available after the initial line i’m guessing.

I'm curious what makes you think this won't make it past the initial line? All 4 beers are stellar, but there's no new/super hyped can being released. DDH DMD will be the first to go for sure, but I could see the other three lasting till 12ish. Hop Showers could last even longer.

Does anyone have the keg email for this week? Might be a double batch in there as well if we're lucky.
