Looking to make a beer run to Charlotte on Saturday for super bowl. Unless I'm doing something wrong the resident culture web sight is useless, nothing there but an address and guys hanging out. I want to pick up some beers to go , do they do Crowlers? It'll be my first trip there as well, might hit Heist as well if they have IPAs on tap, they do Crowlers. It's a 2 HR drive for me but I've heard good things, worth the drive?

I agree their website isn't very good. I feel like it was set up and then forgotten. But this was posted on their instagram six days ago:

I'd shoot them a FB message.

Website? What is this, 2002? Everyone's on Insta or Snap now!

But yeah, they do 25oz Crowlers, but not always of everything on tap. I would suggest checking out what they have on tap on Untappd (they're a verified venue) and shooting them an email or Facebook message if you have any questions. Pretty much the same deal with Heist: limit 2 crowlers per guest. Check their Untappd/Social Media before heading out to see what they have.

Sounds like I'm taking a ride, I'll just have to see what's on tap on Saturday. Thanks guys.

Resident Culture is mostly on social media...most breweries websites are shit. Anyways with the Verified Venue on Untappd you can see what they are pouring and what they have in cans. They have crowlers...but I don't know what their definition of "small batch" is.

When I was in Asheville at Barleys eating pizza, I had an innocuous IPA from Highland. It was fresh and tremendous. The beers here on the shelf is Oct bottlings and what a shame, fresh this beer is quite the shit. In a good way.

Anyone had the new batch of Hawkbill yet, is it noticeably different than other recent ones with the recipe change?

Speaking of Burial, I really liked the newest Ceremonial with the lupulin powder.

The newest Ceremonial is awesome....5*! Hawbill was originally hazy and I heard they went back to hazy.....how was it?

New Hawkbill is indeed different than recent batches, very hazy and very tropical fruity. Big step up from any recent batches of that or Surf Wax, highly recommend. I think what I had was canned 1/23.

Agreed! Best I've had from them in a long while (though I haven't had many of the brewery-only can releases). Pillowy tropical hop juice.

Had a Hop Beard yesterday at Tasty, was tasting pretty darn good. Folks who like non-hazy ipa’s will surely dig it.

Random. But is there a good brewery in between Raleigh and Fayetteville?

any recommendations for a visitor to ashveille who isn't necessarily looking for the latest hazy IPA entry? is Burial the place?

    No.

Southern Pines is the best (IMO) in that area, but it'll add an hour to your drive if you try to hit it "on the way" from Fayetteville to Raleigh.

The latest batch of Grove from Bhavana is spectacular and better then anything I have had from Richmond lately. I have to say, between Bhavana and Casita, not really having much desire to drive 2+ hours for hops these days.

Newest Grove is really good. I still like Pithy more, but I always prefer single ipa’s.

New Anthem is continuing to release wonderful IPA. I had both of these offerings last night. I thought it was super creative to make subtle changes to the bill to yield both a West Coast and NEIPA style.
