I grew up in Boston and now live in the midwest. My Mom is heading back today to visit family in Marblehead area and I'm hoping she can bring home some East Coast stuff I don't see in the midwest. I'm not going to ask her to make any special trips but what stuff do you expect she could find at the local liquor stores? On that topic are there any decent shops in Marblehead/Swampscott/Salem? Thanks from Minnesota! Go Sox!

Also, Vinnin Liquors around the corner from CBC Swampscott. If you look up either on Twitter, you will get an idea of the stuff they have, plus they are real close to the Marblehead line. Both places are among the better selections in the area.

Great, thanks. Those both look like great options and would be convenient locations.

Just send mom to Vinnin Liquors. All the stores mentioned in this thread are solid but Vinnin has the best craft selection and better prices than any store mentioned. And it's the shortest drive from Marblehead. Feel free to message me for help figuring out what to buy at Vinnin. I'm there all the time.

Was at Vininin Liquors last night and solid selection. They had multiple cases of Sip of Sunshine with a 3 4pk limit. If she headed there today, she could prob snag some, if not on the cooler shelf, go into the walkin and look for the cases.

Thanks everyone, sounds like I should ask her to stop at Vinnin. Funny thing thinking about growing up just on the other side of Tedesco, going to Photographics to rent movies with Dad and shopping with Mom at Marshall's all those years ago. Favorite family meals were at Bertucci's or Bejing Palace. I remember my first feeling of adolescent independence when I rode my bike to Strawberries to buy a Dave Matthew's cassette tape with my own money! My how the times have changed!

Great to read I might be able to get some Sip. I'm familiar with the standard East Coast big boys HF, Alchemist, Trillium, Treehouse, Bissel and assume there isn't a chance of any of that stuff, but what else should I ask her to look for?

Thanks for the trip down memory lane! I'm so old that I remember buying albums at Popcorn before it was Strawberries. Now there's a stinking mattress store where Popcorn/Strawberries/Photographics used to be. :slight_frown:

You won't find any of the east coast "big boys" outside of the brewery. Then again, Trillium is a 30 minute ride into town through the Ted Williams Tunnel...

I mean, I am my Mom's favorite son, but that might be too big of a favor to ask. Hopefully I can get lucky with some Lawson's at Vinnin.

They still have some stuff from Burial on the shelf - really enjoyed Hawkbill IPA.
