Had a DDH Space Diamonds from the end of December tonight. It definitely mellowed out, no peppery taste like when fresh, but damn it was delicious. Straight juice.

I think I can confidently say now that 4th Anniversary is the best OH beer I've had.

It is drinking absurdly smooth for a triple right now... And call me crazy, but I'm picking up some of that elusive "green melon" note from OG Green Power in the flavor? Could just as easily be the 10% talking though...

100% of the beers released this Wednesday are lactose and oats, more evidence OH hates their TRUE patrons.

I, for one, am excited to get my Milk Beard/Lacto Lips going on again tomorrow night (Oh... is one of the better low(ish) ABV beers OH has done and this will be my first time trying the 'tosed version). Also sounds like cans of SD&W will likely make it till tomorrow, only grabbed a 4pk on Saturday and could use another.

I noticed this new version of Short Dark has the 'tose in it. I don't remember that being the case with last year's release? But maybe I'm crazy. They really want everybody to be putting on the pounds it seems.

Don't they realize they're undercutting long-term revenue by undercutting the health of their patrons – locals and itinerant hazeboiz alike?

The original SDH description leads me to think it's always had lactose.

"Short, Dark and Handsome(7.4%) is a big american stout with a full rich body and is hopped with Fuggles and East Kent Golding. Our first canned stout just in time for fall."

Even if "milk stout" has always been a thing, it feels like it's less important to note lactose in a stout than in an ipa.

I would almost guarantee it was in there on the last batch, just not advertised in the description. The mouth feel is the same to me, would be shocked it it was a new addition for this batch. Maybe adding 'tose to the description was done to up the hype of this slept on greatness.

One thing I have been curious about that maybe someone with better overall beer knowledge could chime in on; I've noticed that every stout I've had from OH regardless of 'tose, barrel aged, crazy amounts of adjuncts, etc. is that the head of the beer dissipates almost immediately and I get no lacing on my glass. Is it the carb level? (I've noticed this with Prairie stouts as well and I find them to be generally low/under carbed)

I thought SD&W was super sweet last year but maybe I mixed it up with Orbit since I got both tasters at the same time.
