Pipeworks beer seems to be languishing now after a nice initial run - to illustrate your point. A shame, their beer is nice when fresh & competitively priced.

I just bought a bomber of Mosaic Dry Hop Pseudo Sue for $10.99 at my local small town liquor store last weekend.

    I believe I pay $10/$11 a 4 pack in Minnesota.

FL Sue was still a more than respectable APA, but not to the level that Sue got its ratings and reviews on sites like these. I enjoyed FL Sue, but will admit that the first time I went down to Decorah and had a Sue on tap at the brewpub it was like trying the beer for the first time. It's legit, as well as the other Sue variants. I love King Sue, but I think the DDH Sue takes the cake for me. All of their main line beers come in cans, Sue, Golden Nugget, Rover Truck, Dorothy's. Sue variants and other IPAs and specialties are the bomber format.

OK so that means all of us massholes can expect to pay about $13.99 for the bomber and $15.99 for the 4-pack :stuck_out_tongue:

Ha yeah, can't imagine it being anything less. Don't forget the stores that will break up the 4pk and sell it for $6-8/can.

What should be coming to MA on the initial drop for package is the following:

    Pompeii 6/4/16 cans
    IPA 6.2%

    Pseudo Sue 6/4/16 cans
    Single Hop Citra Pale 6.2%

    Hopsmack 12/22 bottles
    Double IPA 7.7%

    King Sue 12/22 bottles
    Double IPA 8.0%

Dorothy New World Lager 6/4/16 Cans
    Unfiltered Lager 5.5%

From the initial pricing I saw, you guys aren't too far off if the price guessing was for King Sue Bombers and Pseudo Sue Cans. I do think King Sue bombers will be a little more expensive than you guessed and Pseudo Sue cans will be a little cheaper than you expected. Everything else they're sending will be less expensive.

I travel to Iowa monthly and the cans I get at both bars and liqour stores are always FL brewed ones.

Shouldn’t be anymore. The Iowa canned offerings (which were available in Minnesota around then holidays) specifically say canned in Iowa in the Box and Can.

Do you know when we can expect the beers to arrive or will you be holding them to release on Saturday?

I apologize for being so vague in response to your question, but it's all depending on how much product we receive. We'll have a better answer early next week once everything is confirmed by Atlantic Beverage.

Hmm what part of Iowa? Decorah Sue cans have been hitting shelves now for about 2 months.

Cedar Rapids. Thinking about it it’s probably been about 2 months since the last time I bothered buying some. Good to know because Iowa PS is some of the best stuff I’ve had.

I shouldn't have even compared another beer to them, because quality was never my initial point. The hype will die down, just like it did for SoS (which qualifies with your top beer criteria, and I'm taking that list with a grain of salt since its mostly ranked on hype).

Only time will tell how well it sells in the MA market 6 months down the line. Sorry for offending one of your favorite breweries.

Since production went up their beers sit on shelves...even the Decorah stuff. Particularly the bombers. If their beer sits on shelves in the relative wasteland of Iowa where it has no real competition for best available hoppy packaged offering I can’t imagine the same doesn’t happen eventually in MA. It’s not that it isn’t great beer, it’s just the current reality. Still they can afford some sit if they keep cranking out new offerings tickers gotta tick.

Hopefully this opens the doors to one day being able to get their limited beers like naughty 90 and the barrel aged stuff... Those all sound amazing
