Yikes. Traded infected bottles for new bottles, that are now listed as infected? That sucks. I'm holding out hope that they'll get to the point of refunds. I don't want to make the trip and have the same thing happen. I guess I'll wait until they get the new bottling line is up and running, but that'll probably be my last JO trip.

I'm the only one being helpful here, it's just that most of you aren't yet ready to accept my help. I'd been saying long before these even happened that buying so much more than you can drink to the point where you end up cellaring it (intentionally or not) is a bad idea and so far that has turned out to be sound advice.

I'm not affected by this debacle because I did exactly what I've been suggesting you lot do. I bought 1 or two of each and drank em right away. Live by the mantra of buyer beware.

Jackie O's is under no obligation to "make it right" at all. Believe it or not but the subset of fans who only purchase the BA offerings and drive trade values up then bitch and raise hell about *having* to go back to Jackie O's aren't the people who keep the lights on there. They could just tell you guys to bugger off and keep selling Mystic Mama.

So if you aren't satisfied with their response at least acknowledge the fact that they are even trying.

Pretty trashy to make a comment about what someone can or cannot afford, regardless of whether or not you agree with them.

Maybe I just buy many different beers rather than cases of one thing? It's shocking to think of such behavior though. But personal attacks have always been this guys bag.

What I find amusing is that you guys who went down in anniversary weekend had no problem putting life on hold for 2 or 3 days to make the drive down. Surely using the excuse of "well it's just great to visit the cool folks and drink great taps". Fair enough.

But now that it's not about trade values and quenching that hoarder's thirst none of you can even be bothered to take a single afternoon at your own convenience to pop down and hit Jackie O's.

Oh, but you are an avid supporter.

I don't know where you get the idea that sitting on a BA stout for 3-6 months is "cellaring" it. That's a completely reasonable time frame to be drinking it from your personal stash. God forbid people really enjoy a beer and want to drink more than 1-2.

Gonna go out on a limb here and say Jackie O's isn't putting out their beer with the intended customer expectation being buyer beware....

Rich @RyanMcFly1985 -- yet another valuable post by a guy that spends 99.9% of his time on the internet making snarky, degrading comments directly towards other individuals without ever providing one iota of value to a discussion. Why should I be surprised that you're defending a broken record who does exactly the same thing? Weak.

Why? It's the only logical explanation for his behavior, as someone that follows this thread as closely as the rest of us. To simultaneously hold onto this burning disdain towards people that "cellar" their beers for a couple of months, while also not having enough Jackie O's Stouts and Barleywines on hand for this to ever affect him just screams covetous envy and resentment.

I personally don't find stating the most apparent motive for his constant haranguing of Jackie O's consumers as trashy. And I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one. But if you choose to feel that way, the only thing I can offer is a bit of advice: it's time to toughen up buttercup.

I'm not forcing him to come here and expose himself with his constant, repetitive berating of people that "cellar," while 100% of the rest of us completely disagree with his unwavering push to blame the consumer for not taking the appropriate steps to mitigate the introduction of undesired organisms to this packaged product.

All I know is that there is a reason that there are entire discussions about you on another site and how you're easily the most whiny, annoying BA user. Kudos to you.

And yeah, it's still absolute trash to make a comment to anyone about what they can or cannot afford.

I don't understand why you think I've been saying the consumer is responsible for the introduction of microbes. You are either severely misunderstanding me or attempting to strawman me. It's hard to tell from here since you are often guilty of both.

That's not what I said, at all. And you either know that, or, putting it more politically correct for the ultra-sensitive RyRy, need to read it again, as it's right there in black and white for you to re-read until your heart's content. But I'd rather you just left it at that because I already know your next response, since you've already said it 20x before.
Oooo! You have a groupchat with the three BA users who've made it glaringly obvious how much they disagree with everyone else here on BA about just about everything? And in that groupchat you whine about people you call whiners? Sounds like a blast! I'm honored to be a part of your personal therapy session! I'd love to join....can I, oooo can I!?

There's nothing to be ashamed of if one is on a tight craft beer budget--shit's expensive, and should not be the number one priority in anyone's life. If one is responsible enough to stick to a budget that only lets them snag one bottle per release, great! But that doesn't change the fact that his posts smell intensely of jealousy.

In the meantime, there's an actual issue here at hand, of which I stated my opinion once, until someone decided to arrogantly shuffle in and repeat the same condescending line he's already stated almost verbatim 20x in the past. Let us see how that actual issue continues to develop, instead of nurse your bruised ego.

The organisms don't enter the beer after it's been capped and packaged, so where did I infer that the consumers should be down in the brewery overseeing the sanitation procedures?

You're losing it man, calm down. No one is here to call each other names and make baseless remarks on the finances of others that we can't possibly know anything about.

This is the point where the cycle starts again, and I say it is not the consumer's fault. And then you come back and say we should have known all along and never allowed our beer to sit for more than 60 days. Ad infinitum.

There's nothing new left for you to say, we got it. But thanks anyway for your always priceless input!

Just to break up the heavy conversation going on, I opened one of my oldest (and becoming one of my favorite) JO's beers last night, Noble Sorrel, and it was fantastic. That's all.
