Twin Cities Bottle Hunt - 2018

Just drove by, about 13 people in line now.

 

Hearing from FB group that is way more than that, more like 100.

 

I got one at F44 Thursday night and looked like there was only one left at that point.

 

It is now. Not when I posted earlier. I got in line at 10:45 and I was 22.

 

So you are saying I should look at the time stamp?

Did anyone head to the elevated sale today? Curious what types of beers were available.

 

How have we gone this long with no one mentioning the fire sale going on at the Total Wine's for the F-Town Imperial Maple Stout? $4.99/bottle vs. the normal $17.99. With all that money you're saving, you can afford to buy some genuine Vermont maple syrup to add and get that delicious maple taste. Run, don't walk!

 

Anybody run into Breckenridge Barrel Aged Vanilla Porter in the SE Metro (Woodbury to Eagan)? I saw France 44 posted that they had it on Thursday, but that driving thing.

 

I went to the Mpls store and got there about 11:15 (after driving over from being at the Town Hall BA pre-sale). All who had waited in line had already gone through the selections, and I just joined the line for the second go around. Lots of Goose Island BC and Barleywine, I think there was some Surly Darkness, Abyss choices, Perennial Abraxas, past Schells Noble Star, Evil Twin stout, lots of Prairie Artisan stouts, Black Note, and then another section of 4-pks that I skimmed over. Nothing really exotic nor extremely rare, but I picked up a few to try for the first time or to re-experience. I have to note that probably a third of the selections were already picked up before I started. The longest wait was in the check out line (with three cashiers working) because of the hand entry required for the "Cellar" selections (no bar code scanning). There were still quite a few bottles left to sell, and these will probably be on the regular shelves tomorrow.

 

Didnt go but saw a picture of one of the tables. Highlights were '15 Rare, Regal, '15 BA Darkness, AB Noir. I believe that was the White Bear location.

The one table with the single 12oz selections was not shown in the video.

 

I went to the minneapolis location. The stuff I ended up getting was a 2015 BA darkness (never got it the first time around and want to see if the hype is real), prairie BA bomb 2017, couple 2016 BCBS, prairie BA bible belt, a couple lagunitas willetized.

Some of the other stuff that was out included: Darkness 2014?-2017, 2014 BCBS, 2016/2017 BCBCS, BCBW, abyss rye barrel and brandy barrel from 2016 (was very hard to pass on that rye, one of my favorite beers ever), BA biscotti cake break (which lasted until everyone had run through the tables several times), prairie AB and variant noirs. Lots of other stuff like in the video above.

Great cellar sale, happy with what i picked up!

 

word on the street is there is another drop of pirate noir and bomb coming this week.
just an fyi for those who struck out this past week.

 

Surdyks still had Noir and Bomb today. One bottle of sump on the shelf. Canned Pompeii. Loud Pack. Pipeworks cans.

 

Has anyone seen any dare mighty things variants on the shelf lately? I've made some calls but it seems to be sold out

The South Lyndale Liquors' website shows 'Mosaic' and '4 Hops' available (2/19/2018).

 

Thanks for the tip, I was able to snag some today. With it being president day, the traffic was light enough that I could justify it on my way into work.

 

Looks right. I actually had no idea you could search TW inventories online.
