Question of the year 2017 right here. Then need to save $$$ to build The FFF Tech campus.

I want to see the market price crash with a 5,000 bottle run of Handjee, and 7000 other BA versions.

    Am I a bad person?

My honest opinion is that FFF will and is becoming more like Surly and is going for national distribution or close to it. Unless I’m wrong Surly doesn’t have any other special stout releases besides Darkness and BA darkness. I have a feeling that this is where FFF will end up and they will be making a ton more $$ than selling $40 bombers out of the kiosk.

The overhead that's going to come with this expansion will put FFF in the red for a while. Eventually if market conditions continue to be favorable for craft beer then the money will begin to pour in. Nick Floyd will have to start playing D&D in his coin vault.

For a company that has never put money into advertising, I find it highly unlikely that they are going in the national distribution direction. I could very well eat my words one day, but I don't see that happening anytime soon. I mean, that was part of the reason Todd left Surly.

You might want to go pick out your best fork and knife and google some recipes for words.

Also, Todd left Surly because they treated him and his wife like garbage.

Yes, but the reason they felt they were being treated like garbage was because he and Ansari were regularly on different pages for how the business should be run, which led to his wife being let go. Now, you are correct in saying that expansion may not have been the specific cause of Todd leaving, but my assumption would be that it is a part of the decision, since he played a major roll in Surly's expansion.

In the same breath, it could also be the exact reason he was brought into FFF, because of said experience. Who knows, I'm not claiming to. Just saying I would be surprised to see that as their plan in the near future, being how particular they have been with distribution to this point.

With the number of national breweries pulling back, it would be a real roll of the dice to go the other direction

Listen. Its not going to happen any time soon. Realistically not in the next 5 years. But they can get there.

I’m not sure how close fff got to Indiana’s new barrel limit on production last year, but that would also limit national distribution plans.

The limit is 90,000 barrels which is a lot of beer. But that is just to determine if they are a microbrewery or not. Clearly we're leaving microbrewery territory. Or they change the limit again.

I don't think 3 Floyds is going to limit barrel aged production for the sake of money. There is no distribution cost for kiosk sales and also consider this:

In 2016 when they released 4 different Moloko variants at the same time, there were a total of about 1,100 bottles. $35-40 each. Those were gone in five hours. I think they'll take that.

I think the lack of barrel aged offerings has more to do with the fact that they aren't predictable with this sort of thing to begin with and also there were barrel aged offerings although they didn't get put into the generic 750ml bottles.

    Mother of Deadnaught
    Rue D'Floyd
    Chevelier Bertrand
BA Behemoth (with 3 different barrel variants).

Not the best release lineup of all time but if rumors of 8,000 Rue bottles are true then it sounds like many resources went into that. Making *enough* DL variants may have played a part too.

If they build that giant campus I would assume the following:

Warpigs gets a Munster office and they contract brew out of FFF.
Some of the other smaller local places in NWI and they start contract brewing at FFF.

They made an absolute shit ton of Rue last year, and even though not everyone got a BA Dark Lord Variant last year, you still gotta estimate there were at least 5-6k bottles, and probably more.

So right there, were at at least 10,000 bottles of BA beer last year.

Wasn't Rue released in January of 2017? So shouldn't they have had something else out by now since a year has passed?
