    1. What is your name and your BA name?

    2. Who filled the first growler John ever got filled at Other Half? Sam

    3. What was the first single hopped beer Other Half ever sold in cans? Nelson

    4. Who was the first bartender at original tap room? Anthony

    5. What was the style of the first packaged beer Other Half ever released? Stout

    6. 10 haizboiz are at the front of the line at Other Half at 4:45 am on a Saturday for a can release. The release is made up of a 11% ABV Quadruple Hopped IPA, an 8.5 ABV beer DDH’ed with lactose and a 14% ABV Stout with peppers, salt, coffee and tea. Other Half starts selling to the first haizboy at 10am. Other Half is completing sale to one haizboy every 1 minute (assume one haizboy served at a time sequentially). When all 10 haizboiz have been processed through the line, what is the total # of minutes all of the haizboiz have spent in line? Note, the total time for each haizboy ends when they have completed purchase of beer.

    Some comments
    1. Not everyone got this question right ! Some people didn't put both names.
    2. Wanted to have a questions that couldn't be looked up on Internet. First day they openend, brought my growler, didn't fit the machine, they didn't have growlers so Sam filled it right from tank.
    3. I think it was a Friday afternoon release.
    4. The one and only legend Anthony ! And lucky for us he was passing through the tap room Saturday and stopped by and said hello! You can also thank Anthony for establishing the culture of music they have played.
    5. The infamous Stout! Got mixed reviews, I actually still have a bottle of this I never drank.
    6. Two people got this right, including a person with a PHD in Math. There was some discussion on how it was calculated, it was the total minutes combined for all 10 haizboiz.

    From 4:45 am to 10:00 am > 10*315 minutes = 3150 minutes
From 10:00 am to last haizboy served
    1st haizboy 1 minute in line ;2nd 2 minutes ;3rd 3 minutes ;4th 4 minutes ;5th 5 minutes ; 6th 6 minutes, 7th 7 minutes ;8th 8 minutes ;9th 9 minutes ;10th 10 minutes = 55 minutes

    3150 + 55 = 3205

4th Anniversary sold out at 2 (I know bc I missed it by 3 mins). You do not need to show up at 6am to ensure you get a full allotment of a beer if its going to be a double/triple batch. You can walk up at 11 and grab it.

Reinforcing the idea that you need to line up at 6am to get a beer is a positive feedback loop. It starts a line earlier than it should be which means other people freak out and run to get in line which is completely unnecessary because you can show up 4 hours later and still get beer.

I was one of the last few people to be guaranteed a full allotment of the Anniversary beers and I got there around 6am, it depends on the allotments and batch size like I said. You had to be there by around 6:30 to get 2nd/3rd Anniversary.

On a side note I looked at the OH fbook group for the first time in ages. Obviously the open muling (I take venmo, PayPal etc) is hilarious, as is the after market pricing discussions.

But what caught my eye this time was someone saying they wanted to “mule” some of the last few weeks’ releases. Isn’t that just called “selling”?

Everyone in that group is just selling beer. Call it whatever you want, a “mule fee”, but it’s just reselling beer and it’s the main reason people have to line up early.

Right but you specifically mentioned 4th anniversary, which was a double or triple batch. The others were very limited. People showed up at 1:30pm and still got 4th anniversary. Also 2nd and 3rd were available for growlers.

I was talking about that release in general. Also the person I responded to is from out of state, I don't think that saying that they can just get growlers instead is an acceptable substitute.
