There are legitimate people posting on there, even some of our favorite BAs. But I really think there are 12 year olds on there, OMG, I want that beer! , etc.

Wow, really kicking myself for splitting a 4 of Vic Secret with a friend. Right there with Galaxy Soup as far as I’m concerned.

Just found out one of my favorite bars here (upstate) is doing a Sand City tap takeover next month. So pumped to try all these delicious things I've only read about.

I'm going to be in Nassau County (Old Bethpage) on the Friday the 16th. Does anyone know if the tap room will be open by then? If not, what's the best place to find their beer? That 80s Joel can packaging is amazing... such a great tribute.

    Seems highly unlikely.

Haha, the Sand City IG page comments strikes again. The dumb, repetitive questions get asked and whoever runs their page nearly lost it.

If I ran their IG page I would lose my shit publicly. People nowadays are so fucking lazy they cant even read a single sentence which consists of 10 words.

Its almost as bad as when a weather forecast company puts out a snowfall map and 80 people comment “what about xx location?!”. How about you learn how to read a fucking map.

Sadly, for some people TLDR is a way of life. Anything written that contains more than 140 characters is equivalent to War and Peace for them.

SC: "Appreciate the patience and support". :joy: They wish.

I want to take this moment to thank Sand City for not releasing cans this weekend and saving me a few bucks.

This sucks. But title of article and some of the facts feels misleading, they have been closed for awhile. The brewery right smack in the middle of that town always seemed like a bad fit to me.

Needs to be a grass roots effort to let that town know there is a segment of people who will never frequent any businesses in that town any more.

<<The village of Northport has prohibited popular microbrewery Sand City Brewing Co. from reopening its tasting room, citing noncompliance with zoning code after some neighbors complained about crowd control, noise and intoxicated patrons.>>

I guess every bar and brewery in the country should be shut down based on intoxicated patrons.

Exactly, I said to myself "are they serious" with that? I've been to Sand City about 10 times, and have never witnessed anything remotely close to when I'm out at a Long Island bar with a bunch of drunk bros and divas. It's always been a chill atmosphere.

"The Northport police in 2017 issued four violations to the brewery, including one for patrons drinking alcohol while waiting in line to buy beer"

Is this accurate? A business can get in trouble for illegal acts that people commit on a public sidewalk?

Welcome to Northport. This won't be the first business the village has pushed out.

Those quotes from "village officials" in the last paragraph are probably just lip service in order to sound reasonable in the press. The municipal government as a whole likely couldn't care less if SC leaves.

So basically we are looking, at the eariest, that the taproom will remain closed until early April based on the date of their next hearing.

If I were SC I would have began looking for a new spot a long time ago. They must be losing so much money with reduced income from can sales, growlers, fills, etc while still paying taxes and all additional overhead for their property.

It may never open again, and hopefully Sand City already has an exit plan in place that they are executing, even if it does open, long term future not good there.
