who would have thought we'd get to a day when we'd say "only 14.5%"?

I don't know how much they used for the first iterations of Mash and Coconut but I hope this is comparable

This is all well and good, but at this point I'm just waiting for the inevitable solera method hazy IPA to commemorate Offshoot's birthday. Imagine, every April Fools's Day, being able to buy a mix of one year old, two year old, and three year old IPAs!

So for Annuel, being a 3-year blend does that mean they essentially made a 1 year anniversary beer, then 2 year with solera method, and now on the third year will be releasing the first in a series?

Confusing question, I know. Basically, are there in theory a 1st and 2nd anniversary version that were created?

I'm guessing it's maybe similar to the gueuze method, but was blended and put into barrels that previously housed anniversary towards the end.

Looks like the solera method involves blending annual batches of the same beer to create a balanced blend of young and old. If they started when they opened then it makes sense as to why this is the first year it’s available and also means there wouldn’t be “anniversary releases” prior to this year since it needs multiple years to create the final product

For the anniversary party...any chance there is an option for a DD ticket? I looked at last years email, and I didn't see an option.

Also I was looking at the '17 thread, and looking for comments about the party. Took awhile to scroll through the month of may, but could not find anything. Since the party was May 6th, figured there would be some comments the next few days. But nothing.

I have not attended any of their events, but is this likely their "best" party of the year?

I drank my last bottle of Black Pearl while sitting around a camp fire at the beach this weekend. Not sure if the ambiance added something extra, but it knocked my socks off. Liquid candy bar in a bottle!

There were DD options last year. I bought one. I think it was $15.

Funky Buddha's Last Snow really is a liquid Mounds bar. And the 2013 Proprietor's BCBS was insane. It actually had coconut flakes in it.

There definitely is something special about drinking Hawaii'n beers on the beach, that sounds like a perfect experience. Similar to how Mammoth Brewing beer always tastes WAY better at the top of the mountain, haha.

I'll have to keep an eye out for Last Snow, sounds excellent!

As stated, there is always a DD option.

I like the anniversary party and the Black Tuesday party for different reasons.

The Anniversary party is a festival style event. Its definitely their largest event and as far as festivals go its one of my favorite of the year. Great beer line up, good crowd, lots of fun. If you go to one event from The Bruery, it should be this one.

The Black Tuesday party is smaller, classier, better food with servers bringing it around, a good band, and I really enjoy trying all the variants. Also my wife, who hates beer festivals, enjoyed herself at the Black Tuesday party last year. Hoping to convince her to go again this year. I like the early session, so I can stumble over to the tasting room after the party, then on to my hotel around the corner.

These are the two I try to make every year.

Hey, @BruerJoel : two questions about the Hoppy and Wild festival. First of all, is the early access benefit still happening? If so, when is early access for the two sessions? Secondly, I noticed that the order for the tickets doesn't list what session I bought them for. I'm pretty sure I did the first session, but is there any easy way for me to verify this?

My Brother brought back 4 bottles of Black Pearl from Maui last year. 3 of the 4 have been opened, and all of them tasted terrible....like there was rubbing alcohol in the beer. I emailed the brewery and they never responded to me. I figured all the bottles tasted the same, but sounds like yours had no issue.

Early access is totally happening! After tickets come down (this Sunday is the final day!), we'll reach out to everyone who purchased tickets who qualifies. Early access will be a half hour before listed start time.

I can help you out with your session question too - just shoot my your login email.

Those weren't coconut flakes, it is due to the coconut oils and fats.
