Other Half February 2018

If I am reading it correctly the LAX 2 JFK is actually a Monkish release and will be Monkish cans. Interesting.

 

I am one of the disappointed, as I'll be going to other half tomorrow, and will now have to deal with madness, and miss out on any potential cans being left over around noon. Wanted to just chill out in the tasting room and drink, possibly pick up a 4 pack of one of the other beers. Damn you Monkish!

 

I feel the same way. I was hoping the Monkish products would drop today and tomorrow would be boring and non-collab beer easy to obtain. How foolish I was!

 

I'm still hopeful I might be able to grab 2 4pks of something after the initial craziness, fingers crossed one of the beers will make it through the initial rush.

 

I'm thinking that's referring to the Carton/Interboro/Barrier collab. Maybe that'll be a mid-week drop next week? Since the other breweries are releasing theirs this weekend? Who knows

 

Snowball's chance in hell of it happening, but I'd love to see OH release it tomorrow as soon as the line is dead, just to fuck with everyone who lines up all night long. They do hate their customers, right?

 

I was so happy to stop by last night and get 4-packs of DDHDMD and DDH Oh... I am in the minority here but zero interest in 10% IPAs and the craziness of Saturday. I have to say that the 4th Anniversary is probably the best >9% IPA I have ever had...yet as someone else said it is not even close to DDHACE or others in their regular rotation.

 

+1 for not getting hyped when beers are over 9%. I was almost planning on hitting up OH this weekend assuming the Carton/Interboro/Barrier collab was gonna drop but once I saw the Monkish post I decided to wait til next week.

Even if I bought 1 of each 4 pack of the Monkish collab it would take me weeks to go through it since I don't really drink beers that big.

 

Well only an hour until we can find out if the collabs are on tap today...

 

I think you should be ok. I think there are a lot of people like me that will now get less of the others because of the collabs.

 

Looks like there's already a dozen people in line at 11am for the takeover ...

 

Just noticed they said limits subject to change in the post, so if its a shitshow they might cut limits which I imagine will make mules/traders/resellers really salty. I kinda want to go to this one cause Florets and Green Flowers also seem pretty dope but I still have a bunch of Anniversary beers left so its hard to justify stocking up.

Yeah, noticed that as well. I'll leave the calculation of demand for this release (accounting for limits, simultaneous releases, beer week events + visitors, "hype", etc.) to @dhaakon's mathematical wizardry, but the supply side is interesting being that the beer is coming from Monkish... Their batches seem to really vary in size/yield, but unlike OH, they disclose case counts (in opposition to what is my biggest gripe with OH). They also stagger limits in an attempt to ensure that everyone in the line formation at opening gets at least a 4-pack. Wouldn't be surprised to see some marriage of the OH/Monkish release philosophies... and really hoping that includes a disclosure of case counts

 

Looks like all 4oz pours with the exception of LGA 2 LGB with the option of a 10oz pour. Hopefully they last by the time i get out of work.

 

How crazy is the tap room right now?..might head over in a few hours since im out of work but if its a circus might forgo the headache
