I did a merch trade for a box of thank you beer; merch cost + shipping cost : thank you beer. I sent the merch 10 days ago when I received the & and I still haven’t received the thank you beer. I feel like I’m getting the loop around as they suggest to do an expand trade. We agreed on some cans as he was going to the brewery to pick some up for the trade, but went silent. Then I suggest to scratch the idea since they didn’t get any and it was taking so long. Told them to move forward and send thank you box. He agreed and was going to send box today but yet again no proof. This was agree on IG, what’s the best way to solve this or should I just walk away? Technically did not lose any value, but time and effort.
If I understand you correctly, it sounds like you picked up a merch for someone, with the expectation that you would be reimbursed for the cost of the beer and shipping, and would also receive some thank you beers. I'm assuming your trading partner did reimburse you for beer and shipping, but never sent the thank you beers. Personally, I would just walk away from this. Your partner sounds like a dick (you did him a favor and then he stiffed you on the promised thank you beers), and I wouldn't have anything further to do with him, but I'd leave it at that. If this was a straight up trade I would recommend possibly moving your post over to the Bad Trader forum, but it sounds like your partner reimbursed you for the beer you got him, which I gather was the only thing actually agreed upon or promised. It's a bit difficult to understand if there was any actual contractual agreement when it comes to the "thank you beers," as I'm not sure I completely understand what sort of expectations you both had. Still, this just doesn't sound like the sort of thing to lose any sleep over, or to get all worked up about. I'd just walk away on this one I think.

We did talk about that and we both agreed on those terms. Yeah, my only lost was my time spent getting the merch and shipping it out. I know this transaction happened on IG, but should i still warn people of this person's IG account or just move on?
Does this guy even have a BA account? lf he doesn't, I'm not really sure what the point would be. As the transaction wasn't arranged on BA, it's really not appropriate to start a thread about your experience on BA. Trades that occur via Facebook, twitter, IG or whatever... that's between you and your trading partner and is no concern of BA. So no, I would not recommend that you post a warning that includes this guy's IG account. If it were me, I would just move on and chalk this up to a learning experience.
It sucks being on the short end of this. The issue isn't so much losing time and effort, but more so it's unlikely you'll be helping anyone else out again, which is very unfortunate. Still, I'd definitely let it go completely as suggested. Don't lose faith in karma though.
