    Yankee Sturbridge today....

    King Sue $14 - bottled 2/19
    Sue $13.50 - canned 2/12
    Pompei $13.50 - canned 1/29
    Hopsmack $14 - bottled 2/13 (Mosaic/Galaxy/El Dorado)

    All brewed in Decorah......

All were 2 per person limit.

No Assassin as far as I saw, although Mike did mention that they will be making a lot more in the future with the extra space at the new facility.

Those prices seem a touch high relative to what we are seeing in the Chicago area. No complaints here anyway.

    Pompeii 9.99 per 4pk
    Hopsmack 11.99 per 22 oz
    Sue 10.99 per 4pk

Haven’t had the new batches of King Sue or Hopsmack, but for those bomber prices I’ll be a one-and-done. The Pseudo however is fairly priced and tasting delicious, I’ve never had this beer before and I really enjoy it.

Saw King Sue at Martys in Newton yesterday for $17 a bomber.... couldn't pull the trigger for that price.

    What does Psuedo look like?
I only had it once and it was amazing, but it was clear and filtered-looking, way different than what I saw posted a few months back.

Semi-hazy for me. This picture from Untappd is pretty close to what mine looked like

14 bucks for 22 oz of beer, and lets say it is the best DIPA in the world beer,.... that is still is too much, because lets face it, for every dude whose says hell yes, there are 5,00,000,000,000,000,000 dudes who will say, "what about that 13 dollar one".... and so on.... Of course there is a middle ground, but don't insult us with that pricing. I have loved TG hops, but good luck in MA-This ain't Iowa.

Regarding the last bit of your post, you might have missed the post above where these beers are not priced similarly in IA i.e., MA is getting screwed on pricing. I certainly wouldn't purchase any TG here at the pricing you have & it's likely it would not go over well in Iowa either. A pricey introduction to MA (or any state for that matter) does not bode well imo.

Yeah by now I would have thought that at least the local distributor would give a heads up to the distant breweries that the bomber format for a DIPA is from a bygone era, at least in these parts. When you have so many locals selling excellent DIPAs in $15-20 4-packs their format and pricing make no sense. Not that TG won't be welcomed in MA, just that the Pseudo should keep moving but the bottles will sit awhile, at least after the curiosity factor wears out. King Sue will do very well on draft where it will be priced a little more commensurate with its peers...

Guys, read some of the previous posts. Next release of King Sue will be 4 pack Pint cans. The price point has to do with the old bomber format. Prices will come down as they implement further distros.

Toppling originally contracted cans out of a FL brewery due to demand. They just opened their new brewery and working through the adjustment. Pseudo bombers were 8.99 in Iowa. Now we get 4 pack pints for 9.99 fresh. Give it some time as they rev up distro. They brought a small distro this first time and the price point reflects it.

How bout that King and Smack? Can't wait for you guys to get Sosus, SupaSumo, FSM, Pseudo variants (DDH). They really are a phenomenal brewery. Just got some growing pains from a $100 million dollar expansion

How willing are beer shops to order 4pks with overpriced bombers still on the shelf?

Iowa brahs trying to prop up trade value? I think so .

Dude, stores aren't gonna have trouble selling one or two cases of a Top 100 beer that just landed in the state for the first time. Let the brewery enjoy their cash grab at the expense of people who can't help but wait until the next batch of cans.

How many cases of bombers do u think distroed on this initial drop? From my understanding it was fairly limited. Based off untappd, a lot of very good reviews. I get it. Bomber prices were a bit high. I don't expect will remain. I think has to do with first release/low distro hype and cost point of transporting.

From my understanding this was the only time bombers of King will hit MA shelves. Next round they will be 4 pack pints. This brewery just got a canning line. Have a little perspective

Given all the threads in the Beer News forum these days, I'm kind of surprised that anyone would still do that kind of expansion with the expectation that an increased distribution footprint will cover the expense.

It seems like it's smarter to remain a big fish in a small pond these days, but I guess we'll see.

Yeah, I'm always interested to see breweries doing these massive expansions when we're already seeing a little bit of contraction for other breweries that grew to fast. Will be fun to watch!

Well it's not only the pricing but also the competition. I think that's what the above poster meant -- not only is it a pricey introduction, but there is a LOT of quality hoppy beer in MA.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to trying it at some point!
