To give more people time to get scheduling worked out and prep, we’re going to do next Wednesday Mar 7 @ Gulp on Pico. Hope you all can make it!

We'll see those that can make it at 8:30pm next Wednesday. Let me know if you guys can make it for sure and how much beer you plan to bring. Thanks!

    I'll keep the thread updated.

I might be down for this. Gulp is about a 6 mile or so drive from MdR, I've got too much beer here, I really need some help drinking it, and it would be cool to meet more local BAs, too.

Awesome, hope to see you there. At that hour the drive/Uber isn't bad luckily.

I will try to make this one, bringing 2-3 bottles.

Good to hear. I'm at bare minimum bringing some standard Treehouse.

I've never done a bottle share but I'd like to try and make it out. I work up in NoHo and use public transit though so it'll be up in the air.

Todd, let's just organize a regular south bay bottle share. I'm probably 10mins from you and I know a few others that would be down.

Was hoping to make it on Wed (2/28) for about an hour, then it switched to Tuesday and my week blew up on me, so I was out.

With the 3/7 reset, I'll take another run at it.

If you decide to come down, Blue Line Metro stops just down the St off Westwood Blvd.

I think you mean the Expo line.

We don't want to send someone with a good bottle to Long Beach

Valid. Shows how often I use Metro.

I’d be down for a South Bay share. I bet we could get Select Beer in Redondo to host.

Maybe this is a noob question but what does a venue like Gulp get for hosting this? Do they charge a corkage fee or a cover charge? Do they expect to rely on food sales?

I think it was mentioned earlier that there is a $10 minimum per person.

So no corkage fee, but plan to buy dinner or more drinks.

Foot traffic on an otherwise slow night. Exposure to new clientele who maybe have never had an excuse to go there before. Good karma from supporting the local craft beer scene. Free sips of world-class beer. A good time.

In for the 7th ... Probably bring a BA Barleywine and something else. 2 bottles total for me.

Exactly. Its a good draw, people almost always end up spending money to try their beers on tap, food and return business. I'd like to find out who else in the neighborhood might be interested in hosting an event as well and then we can try out different spots. A lot of bottle shops with tasting licenses have done it in the past as well.
