In lieu of widdling away at my fridge stash, I took the family to the MoMa today. My son yells across the room, “Dad look! Other Half!”

Marcel Duchamp may have a bone to pick with OH. (Not sure if that image url will work here).

Wow! Finally got around to drinking the one can of The Green in Your Area I got from a friend. Not sure if it's differences in recipe or just development over time, but I'm liking this even more than Citra + Galaxy or True Green. TGIYA > True Green > C + G

DFPF and Miami Madness kicked while I was there about an hour or so ago. They replaced one of the taps with DDH DMD, so still some top 250 beers available. Don't miss The Answer's All The Action while you're there, though ... surprise of the day. Thought a quadruple IPA would be too much, but keeping it all mosaic was pretty great. Highly recommended (and it breaks up all their great stouts).

It’s really good! I think the yeast makes the difference, but it’s hard to place. This week’s Green Flowers is a good comparison (also Vermont yeast?). Green/Area, Green Flowers and True Green make a killer beer trilogy.

Really? I thought Green Flowers was one of the worse Other Half beers I've had as of late. I found it to be really vegetal/herbaceous.

Ended up donating the other 3 cans to Goodwill.

continuing with the disappointed vibe, i wasn't overly impressed with LGA2LGB. As far as 10%ers go, I found it too sweet and boozy. 4th anni and even the most recent batch of AGE was less sweet and much drier and enjoyable for me.

You gotta google image search 'marcel duchamp circles' and see what i was trying to post above. You can't miss it.

I had one on draft today, liked it more than any of the Monkish beers from earlier this weekend.

(Though it still tasted like any other OH IPA. My favorite from this week was Hop Showers.)

Right but people dont tailgate every single saturday all year long because seasons ends and during the season of any sport there is no game continuously at the same time on the same day every single weekend. No team plays a game at their home field every saturday at 10am.

People who do this ridiculous shit are there every Saturday. Do what you gotta do but dont be surprised when people think its lame as hell. I’m pretty sure you could find a better time than 6am on a sidewalk in Gowanus to hang out with friends and have beers.

In between fishing and tailgating, one can be plastered by 10am all year.

Boozy brunch is all year too. I think drunk in public by 1 or drunk in public by 10 is splitting hairs.

Also I'll take the 6am sidewalk vibe over that of most bars on a Friday or Saturday night. It keeps you on your work sleep schedule easier than being out late!

Also how about OH breaking through that 4.2 average rating?! Woo!

They'll probably f it up by releasing Boogie Board Stuntz sometime soon...

Heading to NYC for the first time this week for the Big Ten Tournament. Hoping to hit Other Half with my wife on Saturday afternoon. Will it be extra crazy with Beer Week? Don't really care if we get cans or not (would be a nice bonus) but really just want to see the taproom/other stuff in Brooklyn.

Ehh, depends on the release. This past weekend's was obviously crazy cuz OMG MONKISH, but the two before had been really, really chill. Unless there are special tap takeovers, I don't think beer week will affect your experience that much. It's usually pretty chill earlier in the afternoon and picks up early evening or so.

OH is in a great area for checking out other beer spots. You should walk up the street afterwards to check out Folksbier and then Bar Great Harry OR walk from Other Half to Owl Farm and then up to Threes and St. Gambrinus, or head down to Industry City from Owl Farm for everything going on there!

Another great option after OH is to take the F train to LIC Beer Project (~45 min ride) and hit up the Long Island City breweries including Big Alice, Rockaway, Fifth Hammer, and then a great craft beer bar in Alewife.

Between recent 4th anni release, this past weekends Monkish release and NYC being inundated with NYC beer week releases, I have to figure a certain amount of beer fatigue will set in, not sure exactly how this will impact tap room, but you should be fine. Even on Saturday with Monkish madness at around 12 the tap room was very comfortable.

Does anyone else have that one can/bottle of a beer that they just cant bring themselves to open? My last can of SDW is that beer. The first 3 cans were so bad that I’ve just been holding on to the last can to push on a friend. I think I’ll have a party this weekend with the hope to get rid of it.

I hope they never make that beer again.

Some people go out for happy hour almost every Friday with their friends and co workers. I choose to do it almost every Saturday morning instead. Is there really a difference?

Strolled up to Other Half around 12 pm and they had all cans except the one collab. No line, was able to buy cans, then chill out in the taproom for awhile. That video @rozzom posted is absolutely insane!
