I know a few great spots around here in Ulster County for them, and I guarantee they will be welcomed with open arms.

I've heard theories on where they may move, but won't say anything since it's pure speculation, and it was from a friend of a friend.

    Queens please.

It really is a shame. Despite the the troubles, Northport is a really cool geographical location to have a brewery. I loved hitting up Sand City in the summer, grabbing a slice of pizza and then walking around down by the water after. Hard to replicate that elsewhere. Maybe Port Jeff?

Can some of y'all who live out there try to get on the Northport Zoning Board? Then we could overturn this decision ASAP, I guarantee it has nothing to do with the actual zoning code.

It would probably have gone away if they “played ball”. Good for them if they didn’t. Sounds like typical crooked Long Island politics to me. So screw the Village of Northport. Can’t wait until they move to a bigger, better place.

It's always local politics / NIMBY garbage. Any public officials who want the businesses in their central business district to fail should get the boot, even if Northport is beyond salvation.

Not sure what "playing ball" looks like tho - line permits?

Nope, nope, nope. The lower Hudson Valley already has more than its fair share of good breweries.

So basically we are looking, at the eariest, that the taproom will remain closed until early April based on the date of their next hearing.

If I were SC I would have began looking for a new spot a long time ago. They must be losing so much money with reduced income from can sales, growlers, fills, etc while still paying taxes and all additional overhead for their property.
Lets convince them to move to Long Beach. Of course our property taxes are astronomical but its upsides are many - insanely easy public transportation, close proximity to major highways, lots of alcoholics to keep the lights on, etc.

The whole tone of the article is as if it is Sand City's fault and that is infuriating to me. Just feels like they are being looped into the same group as the Vineyard 48 shenanigans

It's a little different than vineyard 48, sand city doesn't have a DJ with people banging in the vineyard. (Yes, there are pictures )

I completely agree with you, its just the phrasing of this article and i just saw the TV spot on news 12 which only makes it worse.

Nothing promotes small business development quite like publicly shaming your most successful new small business.

I don’t know how this is possible but Beachfront Ave still tastes great. This beer is more than 3 months old. The pineapple dank is still there. Crazy.

What a crock of BS. They make it seem like SC is animal house, when all it’s been the numerous times I’ve been there is a bunch of chill, friendly people and dogs. And oh yeah, world class beer too.

Anyone who has spent hours upon hours standing in line waiting for beer should be there. I will be there, who else is in?

Who’s in for a bottle share in the parking lot before the hearing?

Was waiting for some to post something like that, well done ! Although knowing beer geeks, it wouldn't surprise me in the least bit!
