The people got there wish on being able to comment on threads again. Nothing good ever comes of it. Just people trying to control the value of their own beer and interests.

 

That's not true. There are many constructive comments across many threads, including this one. I started this by saying that OP is likely not going to get any bites, because, based on what I have seen close (I don't do secondary, FWIW, these are just completed), he is very low. I thought he was at 50% of the value, but sounds like he is closer to 65ish%. Other people provided additional comments to reinforce that he is low.

Basically, other than the fact that lots of us don't like secondary, this thread was actually very constructive.

 

Once somebody comments "I think you need to add", or "secondary doesn't add up". More than not the persons thread is done at that point and it scares off any interested parties. I would imagine if he got no interest 1:1 he would add a + in his next post.

 

He's off by at least 33%. How would he know he's potentially 33%+ off if he doesn't know? Adding a plus is one thing. Adding a plus that makes up 33% is another. That's not what most people think about.

To be honest, I can't imagine anyone that follows the trade forum and has a Maman would have even given this 2 thoughts at such a low valuation. Plenty of people with VR that are looking for a maman too - it's not like he's offering something rare or obscure that would make the marginal FT: maman person say "I should send this person with a very low valuation a message to see if they will come up." When people are really far away, that's when you're least likely to make a trade. I think 33%+ away is "really far."

 

He's been a member since 2010 so i'm sure he knows what he's doing. He's only off 33% if you value the secondary market hype. One idiot overpaying for a beer doesn't make it gospel. Can you tell i'm not a fan of selling beer for profit?

 

This is why I don't allow comments on my trade threads. I prefer crickets.

 

Neither am I. Like I said, I just follow completed trades. They aren't always cross-posted, so it becomes more difficult.

It's crazy to think I started such an apparently awful chain by simply saying that I thought OP was off, in a polite and kind manner - trying to be helpful.

 

If you don't want to trade for a beer, there is zero reason for you to comment on the perceived "value" of a trade offer. If it's off, the crickets will answer.

@Beer_Economicus you seem like a good guy, but knock it off. This kind of "trade policing" & the ensuing stupidity is one of the reasons comments were locked in the first place. Commenting on value in a beer trading offer is never helpful, never kind, & never useful. It only starts fights.

Dude - you didn't start anything. Nothing you said was wrong. The comments were turned back on to help guide valuation of trades. If that's "offensive" to people - they're beyond help.

For those that can't take comments that are at least somewhat constructive, lock the thread. To me, most of those looking to lock down a thread are trying to fleece the opposing trader.

 

I am sorry for contributing to this dumpster fire. Reporting. I hope it's nuked soon.

 

LOL.. Craziest Thread.. Current Maman 2017 bottle value is $275, based on (well lets just say several global platforms).. So VR with a small plus would be the right trade IMO..

Original offer fair or not, I have no interest in trading once secondary value enters the discussion, and here it's being taken as gospel...
