If the security is the same people who work the Bucs games and they are told to follow the NFL clear bag policy it’s going to be a problem. I wouldn’t risk it unless you are ok with throwing away your backpack or retuning to your car/place you ubered from to drop it off.

If anyone needs a styro shipper, please send me a message.
I have two 12 bottle and a 4 bottle styro shipper taking up space here. I think I may have more 12 bottles styros, but the boxes were shit so I tossed those (you'd just have to hit a local fedex/ups for a new box). I'm driving down so we'd just have to meet up.

I second the other guys advice. I highly recommend not trying. I am also assuming it will be the same Bucs security since it’s the same policy. They make zero exceptions. Just fair warning man they are **** enforcers.

I disagree with the others, try it @lionelhutz23 if you don't care about having your stuff thrown away. It's lame they're trying to act like this is anything comparable to an NFL game. I'm thinking of doing the same. This is a ticketed event for a very small subset of consumers, with essentially no national coverage to speak of. I don't think increasing restrictions over previous years is really warranted, and they will just look dumb if they do it. Three water stations are not enough if they contain the same amount of water they did in the past. And the sunscreen that was very much necessary last year will be making a return as well!

So it says camelbacks are allowed, but all bags must meet NFL guidelines? Which one is it?

Maybe the best solution would be for someone to contact Cigar City and ask. My guess is that they won’t care. I’m also not going to call or email them, but just an idea.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but where are you guys seeing this information about bags and camelbaks?

The camelbacks is why i was going to bring it. If it’s only clear bags then why can I bring a camelback?

It’s in the guidebook under prohibited items.

I know this suggestion seems logical, but given the history of ccb, you will most likely get varying answer depending on who you get on the phone and then what actually happens at the venue may be different than what is stated. Most likely they will put out another do and dont’s list before the festival and answer these questions. And that will be the best source of info.

Agree there is no point calling to ask the answer you get might be wrong and they may change it before then anyways.

Truth! I called and asked about bottle pickup one day and the girl on the phone said bottle pickup didn’t start til the 9th and ran until the week after Huna day. But their website says otherwise.

For those coming in from out of town for beer week, the traffic here is currently ridiculous due to all the people in the area. Make sure as you plan your stay and events so that you avoid or give yourself a lot of extra time entering Tampa from St Pete everyday between 7:30-9:00am and from 4pm-7pm nightly. Traffic the other way isn’t too bad except the last stretch into downtown st Pete starting at 4pm as well. Other roads are busy as well, but these stretches are savage at the moment and will only be worse during beer week.

Does your 12 bottle wine check have the foam carrier, or just the fabric partitions? I bought a wine check that has a 6 bottle foam insert or a 12 bottle fabric partition. The label says the foam is required for air travel. Do you have any experience flying with beer? Do the airlines check?

I've "smuggled" beer home from Europe in my bag, wrapping them in clothes and never had a problem. My concern is the Wine Checks are blatantly carrying liquid. I don't want to get to the airport with 12 bottles and no foam and have to leave the whole thing.

    Thanks

I have no experience with this specific foam issue, but I wouldn't worry about it.

I've flown with beer in my luggage frequently both domestically & internationally without ever having an issue. It does seem like the bottles trigger something with the TSA, because often I'll have the "We peeked in your luggage" slip when I have bottles. It appears to me that nobody cares about alcohol in your checked luggage.
