It's bad on the weekends for sure. But it really isnt that bad most other times. I work in Waltham & can get there in 15 mins. But they consistently have better selections than the other CBC Newton, which is much closer to me.

I do want to check out Crafted, but it's much further from me.

I really have not liked the Melvin stuff I've had so far. Had Citradamus last night. I would say it was just ok, if I'm being kind. Don't get the higher ratings for them. There are better "malty" beers out there.

I could ride my bike to CBC Framingham in about 15 minutes except lol no I would die. Then again, I might die just pulling into their parking lot if the person behind me happens to get a particularly exciting Facebook notification at the wrong moment.

Oh well, the Framingham-Natick rail trail will be finished any decade now. It the meantime I guess we can continue conditioning Americans to accept that the most reasonable way to get somewhere two miles from their house is to fire up their own personal 4000 pound dinosaur burning death machine. With in-dash infotainment system, of course.

    /end rant

I used to live in Waltham up until last year, I really miss it.

I guess I wasn't saying to CBC Framingham, but moreso through Framingham center. I have a practice space on the Framingham/Ashland line, and it was hell to get to during rush hour from Waltham.

You mean the part where John Harvards, Exhibit A and Jacks Abby all make great beer? That part?

Picked up some Proclamation Derivative Mosaic today. Got home and realized it's canned 2/8/18. Not a big deal, but I may not get around to finishing these until next month.

Is this the date everyone else is seeing? I don't think it was sitting around, I haven't seen it at other stores, so that's why I didn't check the date. Figured it had just dropped.

2/8 not too shabby...did you get it at Fort Point? I know they got dropped last week at some point

I picked up vanished valley Pomona & Watershed. Also, grabbed a four pack of Brewmaster jack's Hoppiness is a Warm Pun. I haven't had either of the former, I have had HIAWP, however, not in a few years. Will report back to see how they all are

I thought Pomona was quite good. I also grabbed a Stoneface Double Clip on the same run. Very tasty, but could have used a touch more bitterness.

Pemberton Farms. Nah 2/8 isn't bad if I was drinking them all in the next week or two.

I'll probably get to them, but if not, I'm going to Germany for the next two weekends after that.

Really feels like local distro has hit a ridiculous level recently. Just came back from vacation and wanted to grab some hops, walked out of a CBC with Vanished Valley Pomona and Watershed, a Galaxy Four seam, a King Sue, a Proclamation Derivative and a Castle Island Hi-Def.

Not saying this is TH or Trill level, but for an effortless haul it’s definitey up there. If this is the new norm it’s definitey going to impact how much $ I spend at those two breweries.

I went to my local store because I saw they had King Sue (and the other TG stuff). It should be mentioned that I am rarely, if ever, that guy who sees something and makes a point to go grab a release. But this time I did.

Hand the bottle to the clerk, say hello, ask how busy it's been, yada yada yada. Leave the store. Next morning, find the receipt on the counter. $15!!! That's outrageous. If I wasn't being such a social butterfly, I would have passed. Maybe they didn't tell me. Maybe they did. I don't know.

Immediately, I assumed they charged me for a four pack of Pseudo Sue. After asking around, nope. $15 is the price for that beer? That's a "world-class" double? GTFO.

I'm getting to the point where I only want German lagers from Jacks Abby.

$15 for a bomber equates to $43/4pk price per oz. As much as I want to try king sue I can't bring myself to pay that much even when everyone is talking about how good it is.

I'm with you on whatever JA is putting out.

King Sue is going to be canned at some point in the future and the price per oz will most definitely decrease. I will probably wait on that format since 22 oz of any beer for me is usually more than I want.

That's a nice haul for sure. I really enjoyed all the Proclamation stuff I've had and looking forward to trying VV. Heard great things about them. My local store always has fresh Lamplighter and Exhibit A which has prevented me from some of my usual Trillium stops.

Yeah, I almost passed at that price at FPM. Not sure if I'll buy it again, but 68 cents per ounce for a DIPA is nuts. (That said, the beer was delicious -- but not *that* delicious).

FWIW, the Pompei and Pseudo Sue were around $13-$14 per four pack most places. If they can get King Sue four pack of cans somewhere in the $17-$20 range, I'd pick it up. Bomber prices are just ridiculous.

Vanished valley beers were both fantastic. Hoppiness is a warm pun is one of the more underrated beers in the state .this batch was both hazy and delicious
