It's almost Spring and the last tasting was before Christmas. Any interest in another one? I think last year was maibocks.

How about something different but still associated with Spring like, say, an Irish Dry Stout tasting?

Hey I'm down with that! I was planning to do a blind tasting of Guinness, Murphys, and Breckenridge Nitro Irish with some friends - Id just roll that into this tasting.

There's a certain logic to that. What are some of the easier-to-find ones you recommend trying?

Guinness (several variants including the 200th anniversary edition are out there right now), Murphys, Breckenridge Dry Irish should all be pretty easy to find. North Coast Old No. 38 (my personal favorite) I think sees distro to Pennsy. Maybe O'Hara's would be easy to find?

While it's technically not an Irish Dry Stout, I'm guessing this still fits the bill? That can has been sitting in my fridge for way too long now anyway.

Took the words right out of my mouth.

Hopefully we will start seeing some local attempts as well, just to mix it up a bit.

I loved the 200th Anniversary pack, and have had Murphy's a number of times, so I'll be on the hunt for something new. I don't remember ever seeing that Old #38 before. Will definitely keep an eye out for it. Thanks!

Love these tastings, what about bock? It's a spring style and I'm sure shiner is available to anyone who wants to join but doesn't have something else.

I'm open to expanding the gravity range to that level if it'll allow for more choices for people.

Cool. I haven't been following this thread all that closely; are we talking tastings of specific beers or styles?

There's been some of each, but mostly styles it seems.
