    Agreed.

I actually stopped by the tasting room shortly after they just released it this year, and if memory serves, I think there was initially a 4 bottle (or half case) purchasing limit. The next time I stopped by (some weeks later), I think that had been changed to a case purchase limit. Now there's no limit at all (from what I could tell).

I don't get it. The beer seems to be as good as ever and the price has remained the same. Unless Upright made a lot more of it this year (always a possibility I suppose), it just seems odd to see it still around this long after the initial release (not that I'm complaining).

According to Wikipedia, which knows everything of course, Bridgeport was founded in 1984, so if they had an IPA at opening they could claim it was 34 years old (and the beer was so lackluster last time I had it I'd believe they haven't updated the recipe either). That same Wikipedia article mentions that Bridgeport IPA won an award at GABF in 1997 (which would be 22 years ago) but the category it was in was English IPA. Hmm.

I found an article online (https://www.sctimes.com/story/life/food/2015/10/29/hop-history-american-ipa-created/74729190/) that explains how Vinnie Cilurzo was already brewing Blind Pig at Blind Pig Brewing (before RR) in 1994, so the claim seems dubious.

To be fair, it's a poorly informed Willamette Weekly writer who made that claim, not Bridgeport themselves.... but I agree about Bridgeport recipes seemingly staying the same for twenty years.I haven't lived out here that long but their beers all taste... old.

I did hear they're jumping on the Hazy IPA trend soon with their new "Hop Hero" lineup.

Well, finally found it. It did a directory to the "100 Best Breweries in Oregon", which though a dubious claim, is kinda fun. It's nice to see smaller breweries in Oregon like Chetco in Brookings get some well earned attention. I do have to say, though, that there are a plethora of grammatical errors, particularly in the parts written by the editor. My favorite being when he describes the bartenders at The BeerMongers as "extremely knowledge". Still, fun and free!

Maybe it was intended as a riff on the doge meme:

"The BeerMongers. So beer. Very variety. Extremely knowledge. Wow."

I'm confident that the error was unintentional. But that doesn't mean I can't have fun with it.

Obligatory beer: I asked the Magic 8-Ball if I was going to have a beer tonight and it said, "Reply hazy try again." So I don't know if it doesn't know the answer or if it's telling me I'm going to have a hazy IPA.
