The answer is that AC didn't need to release some of the most hyped beers during tbbw when the crowds were already going to be massive. They have no problem selling out of these bottles locally. That's about the only thing they could have done given the amount of bottles they crank out per batch to limit this madness. BA IGCCS drew 600+ last year early and the hype has only grown.

Hang in there neighbors, we like AC and want them to stay, they will get this sorted out in the future one way or another.

 

Honestly, AC just needs a new facility. I love the place but they've outgrown it.

 

Just saw someone post from 7venth Sun say it was ok to park there and uber over since they are not open at that time.

Eventually they'll need to step up the production level....like cycle did. Which offset some of the line insanity.

There is no perfect system...Online sales still have people who miss out. I think a good old fashion line is the most fair way. Those who want it bad enough spend their time. As crazy as it is

 

I agree there's no perfect way. I'm thinking primarily of safety issues and impacts to the neighborhood, two things that AC has incrementally acknowledged with each release and the ensuing shit shows.

 

A line is the fairest way but it's not going to continue to work. Either residents are going to start trying to enforce things themselves, which will lead to a confrontation eventually, the police being called or the residents trying to have something done through the City of Tampa.

 

My guess is the cops will be called multiple times Wednesday night and Thursday morning and Angry Chair will be forced to make another change. It reminds me of when the NBA All Star game was in Orlando a few years back. People went nuts for the Galaxy Foams, and eventually lead to riots, and the cancellation of the release.

I agree with this. I like a lot of what the AC guys do and how they try to organize things. But this is the opposite of an unforeseeable occurrence when you release the beers that they're putting out during TBBW. Aside from the unannounced Vassago that was (is?) sitting in the cooler, when was the last time they released a beer that didn't sell out within hours just to locals? Even the DIPA collab with Calusa sold out before 24 hours.

 

There's no perfect system besides supply meeting demand, but there is a perfect system for stopping the crazy lines at crazy times and causing issue for the surrounding community, which is any type of presale, where allotments are then guaranteed, day of. I just think, no matter what they say, they want that hype-train of a line to keep the train rollin.

It's definately going to be bananas Wednesday night. I overheard a group talking about closing down angry chair Wednesday and going right outside to line up.

As someone who has been part of both scenes, beer and sneakers have much more in common than most of you would think.
