Cycle/ccb bottle releases

They will be a part of the new set, is my understanding. They will just replace the infected bottles with a new batch.

 

What was the line like at cc this morning? Bottle count?

 

Just got to CCB and Tuesday’s bottle is sold out. Picked up a few of today’s.

 

I am curious if they will let people re-line on Thursday.

 

Ccb sold out of the Madeira barleywine already. Cycles cancellation left people with room in their suitcase and money to burn I guess

 

Right!! Trousseau is a barley wine aged in Madeira barrels and I know that on at least two occasions it was tapped in the tasting room and was on for close to a week if not more.

 

For anyone skipping Angry Chair and going to Cigar City for BA Maple Hunahpu bottles what time were you planning on getting there? Just curious how crazy it’s going to be. I’m thinking I just want to be in line before the AC line people can make it over.

Wasn't there a Tap list posted somewhere for Cycle BA day? Or am I confusing myself?

I remember when I got banned from this thread for a year for asking if Cycle ever had issues with old bottles under Peg's.

Anyway, really sucks for everyone involved, especially Cycle, this had to happen. Not a good thing at all, but really not a good thing for anyone hoping Cycle might buffer crowds sizes elsewhere. Shit is fucking bananas in Tampa this year--going to be my last TBBW.

 

I was curious why they didn't call this Trousseau? Is it that different--anyone try it who also had Trousseau? Trousseau is one of my all time faves...

 

I think Trousseau was a English barleywine. Madiera is an American. Different hops or malt or both most likely.

 

Yeah I just had it, saw it was still on draft at CCB and couldn't pass it up--noticed a different hop presence, but more so, it was wayyyyyyyyyy woodier than I remember Trousseau, and also a bit sweeter, with tons of dark fruits and even into red wine/grape/Port territory, but a super drying woodiness dominates.

Also had Storming of the Floridablanca for the first time, which blew me away--delicious.

 

You seem like a riot of a time...appreciate the real time updates on tbbw. You’ll definitely be missed next year.

 

I'm not getting in town until Friday afternoon; is it worth trying to head over to Cycle when it re-opens after BA Day?
