I will say there seems to be less events with interesting tap lists this year. There were a few big ones but last year seemed to have more decent nights.

Nope. I was there all day essential so saw it all go down. Told folks if they wanted to come in for 3sons there was a line outside. You could go inside and get beers and take them outside so you can still experience cigar city but at the same time having to wait on in line. It wasn’t that big of a deal.

Believe it or not, some people's palates aren't as refined as yours and don't fully appreciate the hype when tasting beer. Crazy, I know. Glad it gave you a laugh.

Yeah I wasn't implying it was a big deal, just couldn't get anyone to say how it was handled haha. Thanks for the explanation

I think your comments speak to why the other events are flooded. Not that Daisy cutter isn't a good beer, but the "new norm" is that people won't go unless it's a beer they can take a picture of themselves with...

Forget about events, just go to Cycle, AC or even CCB right now (Leon on tap). There are beers worth the trip at each place.

I believe that if you don’t like the events at tbbw, stay in dc or wherever you are from.

If you planned accordingly, or didn't mind waiting in line, you could knock out amazing beers from AC, Voodoo, Wakefield, 3 sons all ahead of Huna on Saturday. That's what our group did and it freed us up to focus on beers only available at the festival on Saturday. And, as @Lapalou said above, if crazy crowds or lines aren't your thing just hit up one of endless local breweries rocking sick taplists all week. We enjoyed the hell out of Arkane early in the week, and Hidden Springs on Friday. As an out of towner, who visits multiple times a year (including TBBW) I'm always appreciative that I can make TBBW week as insane or chill as I want to.

Side note: While the Pipeworks/Half Acre thing may not have been a "selfie" style event, drinking all the coconut jones I could drink in a chill environment was an awesome way to unwind after going hard for a few days.

They've announced Monday (Vanilla Bourbon BA Imperial Stout), and Friday was revealed in the other photo they posted (Bourbon BA Imperial Stout with Caramel and Chocolate). I heard those were the two infected bottles from the last set. I forget if they announced that was the case though.

These were the Tuesday-Thursday bottle labels the last time around. I'm guessing they'll keep those the same, since those bottles were already done and checked out.

I would've actually stopped by for that Thursday if they'd have kept the release schedule, despite the infection issue. Ah well, hopefully they've found someone that likes beer to actually take interest in opening one of each pre-release to taste test this time.

My friend stopped and picked up a bottle at 8AM, he said there was only a few people in line as of 7:45 (6 people).

I think a lack of notice and timing (as many people were finishing up Easter and family stuff, instead of watching Instagram) is probably some of the reason for the low attendance, plus this bottle just being another ba stout with vanilla. I'm excited for the other bottles, there are definitely some good ones in the week. It's nice to not have to go everyday and be able to grab the entire weekday series by making 1 or 2 trips.

Kinda hard to schedule a morning off from work to run over there on such short notice.

Definetly. Throw in still not being too far removed from TBBW fatigue. The “hype” is gone which is great for people who want to just go and get a bottle randomly. None of these bottles should sell out by next week. Still great beers!

I plan to head up there either Wednesday or Thursday after work & try to pick up Monday - Wednesday or Monday - Thursday depending on which day I get up there. Not really interested in Friday's, just hoping the others days last (my guess is they will)
