NERAX Far North, maybe. I love the NERAX events, and personally I'd love to see them expand. I didn't realize there were even that many casks around town, but not a shabby showing. I could see a lot of American Flatbread and VT P&B beers being good fits for cask.

American Flatbread actually had their Oktoberfest event last night and they had a cask of their Oktoberfest Marzen!

Just saw on their website that NERAX North is going to be in Somerville, same location as regular NERAX (http://www.nerax.org/north). So ... not that North I guess. But good for me! Looking forward to seeing everyone there!

Yep, so much for NERAX North, at least for this year. My uneducated guess is that there just wasn't enough time to find an appropriate venue up there, so they went with the tried and now true. Maybe next year they'll be back up north shore somewhere, but for now, see everyone Nov 1-3 in Slumerville.

The sad thing is that I heard on Saturday that The Tap is only renting out that space for 3 months. Really bad timing for NERAX North. No idea why they did not have first dibs on the date there. Oh, well.

I'll vet The Tap is making a lot more money off shoved is renting it for those three months than for a caskfest for a single weekend. Yes, slightly disappointing, but I don't really blame them.

True. NERAX North probably did not generate much revenue for The Tap compared to a 3 month lease.

It must take precious seconds to answer a "where to go in Burlington VT" thread...

Might have time to hit the industry session on Friday afternoon next week ... I never plan on going to this event as it usually lands around Veteran's Day. Hope to at least hit one other session, maybe.

Definitely getting excited about this one--trying to get a crew together for Saturday evening. I also heard they're still looking for volunteers if anybody is feeling generous...

I'll be there Thursday and fridayy. I see the Brit list has been posted, looks like some interesting brews. Can't wait to see the US list.

Looks like a good showing from across the pond ... many of which I have never heard of.

Indeed. That's why I'm looking forward to trying some of them.

Looks like the American list is up now, too. Just wow. Those guys went above and beyond in sourcing this batch. Some great looking brews.

Damn ... might have to stay all day on Friday then to get my fill. There are a few US ones I'd love to tick.

How are the casks by Saturday? Especially 5 to 9.........are many of them kicked, and do they hold up?

Also, if you go to the day session, do they kick you out at 4, or can you stay for the beginning of the evening as well?

I know in the past they've held some of the casks (maybe even some of the more interesting ones) for the last session in order to keep people interested. I'm not sure if it was a problem in the past? Maybe someone else can chime in.

As for afternoon/evening, I'm pretty sure they clear out the hall inbetween sessions to clean up, change casks, etc.

Generally never go Sat. night though in the past few years they have had a good enough selection left to make it worth your while. They clear the hall to get ready for the night session.

I figured that much thanks for the replies Jason and mcintire78. My biggest concern is the shape the casks are in at that point.

With a three day event I doubt many of the casks on the Thursday night will still be around by Saturday night. Four sessions including the industry only session on Friday afternoon.

They tap new casks every session, and remove casks as they kick. The very few that survive a few days are usually fine if they started out fine. During the Spring NERAX, there were a few coveted casks that were not tapped until Saturday.

You have to leave at the end of your session.
